Midgar Central High
.Aeris.
A skinny girl of 16 and ½ walked on the light green grass leading to the black asphalt entrance of Midgar Central High. Her light brown hair tied neatly with a pink ribbon in a thick pony tail that swayed with her every step; her bangs lightly caressed her forehead. She was wearing a pink button up dress with light brown tie up boots. Her usually piercing green eyes were a bit duller now. Her stomach felt weak and sick at the moment. 'The first day of school again' she thought to herself. She walked at a slow uneven pace. It had gone so wrong last year. So many people picked on her because she could hear voices and would often talk back to them, but everyone else just saw her as talking to herself.
The girl looked down sadly at the moment. She had arrived at the school extra early and decided to walk around and find a new place to hang out where she would not be seen. The sun shone brightly on her face which normally would have made things better but this time they did not. She lightly pushed at one of the doors leading into an empty hall way littered with classrooms on either side of her. Her strides were short. She looked up momentarily and to her extreme surprise she saw a boy with spiky blonde hair that seemed to glow under the lights of the hallway. She had never seen him before, but on thing she did take notice of was his eyes. They were unnatural, a bright glowing sapphire color, they seemed almost possessed. (A/N: Not yet are his eyes filled with Mako energy.) He couldn't have been but a year younger than she. Suddenly his eyes were locked with hers, which she had dreaded. She thought she could walk right by and not be harassed with the rumor mill this early in the morning.
"Hello." The younger boy said wearily.
"Hi." The girl had said politely.
"Why are you here so early?" The girl suddenly asked without thinking at what a demanding question that was.
The boy's face expression changed slightly for a moment, "I…I uh…I am new at this school and I was just getting myself acquainted miss."
"Oh I see…" the girl looked at the boy for a moment and considered helping him out, "You know…if you need help finding your way around I could help. What year are you in?
"I am a sophomore and yourself miss?"
"I am also a sophomore…and you know you don't have to call me miss. My name is Aeris and if I may be so kind to ask what is yours?"
"Mine…oh right. Mine…Cloud. That's it. I had a brain freeze for a second." Cloud laughed for a second sweat dropping.
"Nice to meet you Cloud." Aeris said with a slight giggle.
"Nice to meet you too Aeris!"
