Light of the Evenstar
The light of the Evenstar does not
Wax or wane,
Yet there is one who fears it will diminish
All for the love
of a mortal ranger.
If she goes west to the grey heavens,
Her grace,
and immortality are speared.
Yet the Evenstar holds strong faith
in her Aragon.
However,
The gift of foresight says
That battle will claim him
away from his Evenstar.
Though even if the heat of battle does not
Claim him.
Men are but mortal
and through the passing of time
by war, pestilence or famine
born to die.
The Evenstar marries her Aragorn.
Her Ranger now king
Hero of war
Still cannot avoid
The passing of time.
And in the fourth age,
Her king,
Her Aragorn
Dies.
And now she passes
Through a heavy veil of grief
her light waxing
and waning.
With the legend
of Evenstar turning
to myth.
