Boomer barely found any time in his schedule to play with me, naturally because his brothers wouldn't allow him to go anywhere often- not to mention they would try beating me up the moment they laid eyes on me. Sometimes, however, I scheduled to ditch school with him and go play on the playground.
Such as today.
I were hanging on the monkey bars while I waited for the blue Rowdyruff, waiting to see how long I could go without fainting.
It wasn't long until I saw your childish friend wandering around aimlessly and looking for me.
I pulled yourself up with a grunt and shouted, "Hey, Boomer!" I waved to him and jumped off the play set.
He smiled and flew to me in a rush. "Hi, (y/n)!"
I noticed his eyes were a bit puffy, and stained tears caused his blonde locks to stick to his cheek. I stared at his face for a moment and frowned. "What's wrong?"
He looked at me quizzically. "What do you mean?"
I crossed your arms and frowned further. "You were crying."
He was quiet for a moment, then wiped his right eye with the back of his hand. "Yea. So?"
"Why were you crying?"
He furrowed his brows. "What, I'm not allowed to cry?"
I groaned and threw my head back, then looked back at him. "You're allowed to cry, but you... don't cry! Even that time you fell off the monkey bars and fell on the concrete, you laughed and got up!"
His eyes were wide, and he studied my angry but concerned expression. He sniffled, and his lower lip began to tremble. With a shaky voice, he asked, "Promise you won't tell anyone?"
I nodded, pretending to zip my mouth and shoving the invisible key in my pocket. "Promise."
He let out a trembling sigh and looked into my (e/c) orbs. "My brothers took it too far this time. They called me dumb, useless, weak, clueless..." His voice trailed off as tears began to slide down his cheek. He plopped down right where he was and buried his face into his knees as he curled up into a ball. "I don't know what to do about it anymore!" he sobbed, hiccuping in between his words.
Seeing my friend cry made my own eyes begin to water. I sat at his side and leaned against him, choking down tears of my own. I wrapped my arms around his neck and snuggled against him, but I couldn't help but feel anger rising up from the pit of my stomach- something that didn't happen quite often. "Well, they were wrong!" I exclaimed, making him look at you in surprise.
"Huh?"
I pulled away from the embrace and shouted, "How dare they call you dumb when they don't even know how to spell that word! And without you, they wouldn't even be able to tie with he Powerpuffs! And I'm pretty sure that you know what's going on most of the time!"
He wiped his face and cocked his head to the side. "W- What do you mean?"
I smiled. "The point is they are just stupid jerks that don't deserve a brother like you. You're the strongest person I know for putting up with them in the first place."
He stared at me for a few moments in disbelief, then tackled me in a hug. "You're the strongest person I know, (y/n)," he whispered.
I blushed, then wrapped my arms around him lovingly. "Boomer..."
