Still a Hero

Summary: Jak contemplates on his hero days.
Author's Note: Wanted to do another drabble and as soon as I wrote the first sentence, the rest just seemed to flow right out.
He woke up like any other normal morning. Sun shining through the blinds and when he opened, he saw both suns shining through the skyscrapers giving off silhouettes of the buildings and the mix of the red and green suns gave off a glow that only can be seen during the summer time. He wondered why he had been blessed with such beauty when he himself had long forgotten what beauty had meant. Don't get me wrong, he use to know when he was a child growing up in Sandover Village where beauty was a daily thing. But after being sent to the future and spending two years in Haven City prison undergoing Dark Eco experiments did he actually forget.
How grass felt under bare feet, the smell of sea water, and of course the heat the suns gave that splashed onto your skin. Instead, the grass was replaced with cold steel, the smell of sweat and blood hung in the air, and the feeling of fellow prisoners and guards watching everywhere you go and everything you do replaced all those good feelings. And boy was he in for a shock when Daxter rescued him and broke out of the prison and he breathed somewhat clean air for the first time in two years and the adventures afterwards.
Now it seemed all those adventures were a distant a memory. The hell almost forgotten and replaced with good memories. Memories of defeating Kor, overthrowing Baron Praxis, killing Erol (twice), and ruining the Dark Makers plot. As well being poisoned by the treacherous, as well as deceased, Krew and being forced to race for the antidote and killing the crime boss Mizo in the process.
All in a hero's work as Daxter would put it. Now all he wanted was to have his much deserved break from being a hero and concentrate more on what he has.
As if on cue, he felt tiny arms wrap around his leg and he looked down to see his only son snuggling up at him and Jak gave him a warm smile and ruffled his hair blue/blond hair. The little boy looked up to his father with big those big blue puppy dog eyes that pretty much said everything. Even though Jak hero days were over, he was still a hero to his only son.
