Disquiet
By SMYGO4EVA
It was unlikely that they would be returning home after countless battles of the Great War had torn the planet apart, from the inside out, and the outside in. Arcee knew this for certain, and from she had witnessed and had been through in these atrocities, home would be too much for her to handle. She, along with the others of Team Prime, would have to rebuild what was lost, and that would never again be the same, no matter how much they try to reclaim its once glorious image. What was once a safe haven was never to be familiar once more. The disfigurement of their home has made Cybertron unrecognizable.
For one warrior, Cliffjumper saw the road that he walked upon, on the unfamiliar Earth as something to look at with great promise - when there were Decepticons about, he saw that as a fair fight. Both races were on terrain that was strange to them, so it was natural that they'd both look for the Energon they sought. If home was to be Earth now, then so be it. His own home was a road that was walked upon, one that was in near extinction because of the uprisings, and there was no turning back. No turning back now, after being accustomed with Earth for all this time now, and absolutely no taking the easy way out - not if he could help it.
"If we have to, we can adapt - home is not what it used to be, 'Cee."
"You're right, Cliff. If this planet can be what we need to survive, it will be what we make of it. It will be full of the empty places we must walk, but there's no doubt in that."
The disquiet of the future was unnerving, but it was to happen soon enough.
