Genre: Romance
Theme: Choice

Approaching Wilhelm on the other side of the universe wasn't going to be as easy as he imagined. After he had convinced Wilhelm to fade away, despite how they both felt, he'd trouble coping with himself. How could he face him when he made it to Lost Jerusalem? How could he even face himself?
He had to face it; perhaps he had made the wrong choice. Yes, he had to save the universe, but would've eternal recurrence been that bad? Honestly, starting over from the beginning sounded alright. He could've started over again. He could have prevented what happened between them. But no, Mary didn't desire that. And he believed in the power of wills, true enough. He just wished they could have compromised.
Floating through empty space was actually tiring. With no one there, it was depressing as well. It gave him more time to think of all the bad choices he'd made, and what a bad choice it was of him existing. Why did he still exist? The UMN was gone, along with any resemblance of something he knew. Everything was white. Everything was gone.
As he closed his eyes, he thought for a moment that he felt something. And for some reason, he could hear Wilhelm's voice resonating in his head, saying, "That's a fascinating decision, Yeshua." Yes, he always agreed with him. Everything was always a 'fascinating' or 'wonderful' decision when it came to him.
Then something else sounded in his head. His last conversation with KOS-MOS before he had drifted away seemed louder than usual. "As long as they desire, we will continue to exist." Did someone desire his existence? No. That was unreasonable. He wasn't even in the same universe as Shion anymore. So, that wouldn't count, even if they did miss him. He was too far from Lost Jerusalem. So, who was it?
In an instance, arms wrapped around him, and he felt breath on the side of his cheek. "I see you've found the answer, Yeshua."
Wilhelm. Of course. He'd been the only person he desired, and apparently vice versa. They both existed in this alternate universe, and they were possibly the only people in it. But he didn't mind that. The other universe had enough people; he enjoyed this. "Wilhelm—"
An ivory finger touched his ebony lips, and he immediately stopped speaking. It was understood that nothing needed to be explained. Nothing ever had to be explained. He knew everything; he didn't need the Compass of Order to explain things.
"Let's go," he whispered, unwrapping his arms and offering his hand to his Yeshua, who obediently went to him. A smile appeared on both faces. Yes, he'd did it. He'd faced Wilhelm, who held no malice, no anger…nothing. He was as empty as space itself. And seeing him helped him face himself.
Yes, he'd made the right choice after all.
