~oOoOoOo~
James Potter pranced lovingly around their small 3 bedroom home in Godric's Hollow. He was currently in his animagus form, a stag, while his wife, Lily, was in her doe form. Their nine month old son giggled happily as his parents chased each other and tumbled around their large living room.
Harry sat in his playpen cooing and giggling as drool ran down his chubby chin.
"Padfoof! Padfoof!" he called. Immediately, Lily's ears perked before she transformed back into her human form.
"What was that, Harry? Tell Mummy what you said!" Lily cooed.
"Padfoof!" he repeated. James trotted over, his small tail flicked angrily. His first born couldn't even respect him enough to call out 'dad' as his first word. He could have dealt with 'mum' as his first word, but nope. His best friend stole that from him too.
"I can't believe it, James! Padfoot gets the honour!" raved Lily. She angrily threw her arms in the air before she dropped down before him. "Can you say mummy, my darling angel? Say mummy!"
Harry rebelled and shook his head as a four-tooth grin broke out on his face. "Padfoof!"
"I think he want's Padfoot, honey," before he headed to the one-destination floo to Sirius' home.
It only took a few minutes before Sirius swept through in a swirl of green flames. James angrily caught him up to date on Harry's first word.
"PADFOOF!" screamed Harry, breaking the conversation of the adults.
"Ahh, little bugger said his first word!" exclaimed Sirius before he swept Harry into the air.
Immediately, Sirius transformed himself into his animagus form of a large black dog. Harry reached up and pulled Padfoot's neck down, gripping him in a hug. Padfoot brushed his canine tongue down Harry's face, before giving a doggish grin towards James and Lily.
Harry might not have said mum or dad as his first word, but if anyone was to have the honour, they were glad it was Sirius.
