Bright hopes that Ephram believes all he wants to do is help him play hard-to-get with Madison. He's sure that Ephram doesn't know any better, however, so he thinks that he's pretty safe.
Sometimes Ephram can be pretty dense. If all Bright really wants to do is make sure he doesn't leave Ephram and Madison alone, why does he want to come over and hour before Madison will even arrive? It's not like there's anything that's needed to be planned out. But Ephram doesn't think of that.
Of course, Ephram and Bright are friends now, so maybe he thinks that it's just some innocent male bonding time or something.
If only it were that simple.
No, Bright wants Ephram. He literally wants him.
Ephram doesn't know that Bright and Colin were actually more than just friends. Nothing ever happened that interfered with Colin and Amy's relationship, mind you, but there were a few instances where the two got closer than most – if any – male friends would get with each other.
But now that Colin's… gone… Bright needs someone else.
And Ephram's there. He's always there. And Ephram's hot.
So when he offered to come over at six, Bright had ulterior motives. He wanted to spend some alone time with Ephram.
But Ephram still doesn't know. Bright still doesn't know how Ephram can't see the looks and those ever-so-innocent touches, but he doesn't.
When he asks Ephram to sing a duet with him, he's not just trying to make him laugh – he really wants Ephram to go up there with him. Maybe if the room wasn't full of little girls, Bright would dance with Ephram. Not dance, but dance. Grind.
When he sits between Ephram and the babysitter, he's doing more than keeping the two apart. He's getting closer to Ephram. Pressed up against him as he asks Madison to move over. But he doesn't ask Ephram to. Of course he doesn't.
Someday Ephram will get it.
But for now, Bright's just going to have to keep dropping hints.
