Scourge couldn't believe how he was acting this week. He lashed out verbally at pretty much anyone he saw, and he had the worst stomach ache ever. It felt like his lower half of his fuel tank was going to explode. Maybe that's why he was so cranky. He sighed, uncurling from his fetal position on his berth and half whining, half sobbing in pain. All he wanted was a hug from someone big and cuddly that would tell him everything would be alright.
"Commander…?" He heard Mega Octane whisper. "Are you ok…?"
"No…" Scourge mumbled, with tears running down his faceplates. He curled up again, in hopes of relieving some of this pain. Why did it hurt so much? What did he do to himself? He barely registered Mega Octane say he was going to get Skybyte.
Skybyte was the only one on the ship besides Megatron with a medical degree. If he couldn't figure out what was going on, no one would. Megatron was too busy with more important matters to worry about the medical care of his troops. If push came to shove, he might be able to help, but that was in extreme emergencies.
After a few minutes, the Sharkticon came to the black mechs side. He checked his pulse, the focus in his optics and his reflexes. Scourge was so preoccupied with the pain, he didn't hear Skybyte ask the first question. It took the fishy mech to snap in his face a few times for him to pay attention to the world around him.
"Huh…?"
"I asked you what was going on."
"My stomach really hurts…" he said before releasing a moan.
"Where in your stomach? Here?" He said putting his hand on his upper fuel tank.
"No... lower..." he said.
"Here?"
"Lower…"
"That's not your stomach. That's your hips."
"It's right here!" Scourge snapped, putting the sharkticon's hand on his lower abdomen. The blue mech frowned deeply, thinking.
"Do you remember the gender of the human you scanned?"
"Why does that matter?" Scourge growled.
"It matters a lot, Scourge, now answer the question." Skybyte growled back.
"Female."
"Well that simplifies things." Skybyte reached into his medicine bag and took out some pills, giving them to the confused truckformer. Going over to the bathroom, he poured some water into a cup and handed that to him as well.
"What's this?"
"Pain killers. It's all I can do for you right now." The black mech looked worried and confused.
"So what's going on?"
"You're on something Humans call a 'period'. It's the end of a human woman's fertility cycle." Scourge almost choked on the water he was swallowing and looked at the Sharkticon in shock, silently asking for an explination. "You scanned a human female. You must have also scanned her genetic make up as well. Your part human Scourge." He said, unable to hide his amusement.
"How often will it happen?"
"Once a month." He said turning to leave. "Let me know when it starts up again." Scourge grunted in acknowledgement and finished the water, then crawled into bed to sleep.
