"Wait up Hermione" Ron shouted across the grass at the bushy haired brunette. He smiled at his friend as he finally reached her, panting and grabbing the stitch in his side. "Hey." Hey? Hey was all he could come up with. Smooth Ron, real smooth.
"Hey Ron, whats up?" Hermione asked, looking down at the poor boy who had now finally fallen onto the stone steps of the grounds after running across the quidditch pitch full speed to catch up to her.
"I um, well I had a question for you actually" He quickly adverted his gaze so she wouldn't catch the blush quickly turning his freckled face into the shade of a tomato.
"Whats up?" She smiled.
You can do this! He shouted at himself as he looked back at the beautiful girl before him. In the five years he had known Hermione Granger, she had been nothing but a pain. Bossy, a know it all, and actually, quite hideous. Something had changed though last year, and her wild hair had softened, her teeth shrunk after that unfortunate predicament in front of the potions classroom, and Hermione was filling out... Quite nicely in fact. Maybe he had always felt this way for her. Was it just because of her beauty. No, he loved her. She knew everything, solved all their problems. She was the brain of the operation, the one who held their key to success. Ask her already, maybe she feels the same way about you!
"Can I borrow your astrology homework 'Mionie?" He blurted out. He watched as her grin fell into a grimace, her eyes saddened, and she reached into her bag.
"Oh.. I suppose. I guess I just thought... Oh well. Here Ronald. Take it," Hermione muttered, throwing the parchment at his feet before beginning to walk to the castle again.
"Wait!" He called, grasping her hand and spinning her around. He was shocked to find a tear dripping down her cheek. Did she felt the same way? Was it possible? Only one way to tell.
"Happy Valentines day," Ron whispered, bringing the girl in for their first kiss.
