It was a dark and stormy night. Jason was doing his rounds around Gotham as Red Hood, but somehow, the city was just too quiet tonight….Gotham was never quiet. The pelting rain was coming down hard, and Jason was considering just calling it a night and started on his way home, when suddenly…

Thoom…

Jason turned around but saw nothing due to the heavy rain. He listened but nothing else was heard. He dismissed the noise and started carrying on his way, when suddenly, once again…

Thoom… Thoom…

He spun around to nothing once again.

"You're losing it Todd…Not everything that goes bump in the night is evil…" He thought to himself, and continued on.

Thoom… Thoom…. Thoom… The sound was clearly getting closer.

Jason spun around, now clearly annoyed.

"Show Yourself!" He ordered in the drenching rain.

Thoom… Thoom….Thoom…Thoom…

Jason waited, when suddenly, the outline of a figure appeared out of the rain…it looked….square?...

Thoom….Thoom….Thoom…finally it was in full view and stopped. Jason's heart stopped as he realized what it was.

"it can't…that….it's impossible…" He kept denying to himself.

Standing mearly feet away from him was a wooden casket. Strikingly similar to the one he had been buried in.

Jason wasn't about to stand around and ask what his casket was doing literally stalking him in the dead of night, as if alive.

He turned and made a run for it before he even knew what he was doing. "It's happened, I've finally lost my mind!" He screamed in his head as he dashed away, the casket gaining on him.

Thoom! Thoom! Thoom! Thoom!

Suddenly reason kicked in, and he reached for his guns, but to his shock they weren't there, or his knives! Without reason, he suddenly had no weapons on him!

THOOM! THOOM! THOOM! THOOM! THOOM!

The casket was right on top of him, suddenly he came upon an open door. He ran inside at the last minute and slammed the door closed.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The casket was about to break its way in, and the room he had run into was small, with only a small cabinet on the wall, he quickly opened it, and to his utter dismay, found only a small glass bottle of cough syrup.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The door was about to give. He grabbed the small vial, as it was his one and only defense, and with it, he waited…

BOOM! BOOM! SNAP!

And with that, the door flew open and the casket opened up as if ready to swallow him whole, moaning as it did.

Jason mustered every bit of strength he had and threw the cough syrup at the casket just as it was coming down on him, and then!...

The coffin stopped.
