Title: Study in Pastels
Author: Scarbie
Pairing: Brandon and Maria
Rating: PG (for language)
At first glance, a person could mistake her eyes for blue. He knew better because he never glanced at Maria. If anything he gave her full out stares. Not leers like those hard-up assholes that tried to force themselves on her as she walked home. He gazed at her like an art patron would look upon a much-loved painting. In fact, Maria with her light hair, eyes, and shades of clothing was like a study in pastels. An experiment of color that went so right. Her eyes were a beautiful shade of green. Sea green. A color he'd seen as a young child in one of the few crayon boxes at the orphanage.

It was hard not to stare at Maria. Only when her cheeks flushed and she began to fidget slightly under his scrutiny would Brandon remember to look away.
Lately, she wasn't giving him as many reminders.
