The Girl With Cat Eyes.
A/N: Um, so yeah, this has been in my head for a while. I've been reading Draco fics for so long, and in one of Felton's interviews he was talking about how it was sad Draco never really got a love interest because he was evil. So I spun up my own story. I don't know if it'll be good, but I hope you guys like it. Feedback is loved. Also it's kind of AU cause I'm changing things, but it should go like the movie mostly.
Our OC:
Name: Aurora Willows.
Nickname: Aura.
Blood: Pure-blood.
Year: 4
Age: 13 in first chapter, because it's before her birthday, 14 later on.
Appearance: 4'10'' on the shorter side. Slim, Long red hair, that's naturally straight, but she'll curl it. She has Green eyes and sort of pale.
She sat there in the burrow, looking out the window of the surrounding emptiness that was field. This was outside of her new home. It's not like she hated the people here. But she felt like an outside. But to anyone else, she looked like she fit in.
Her name? Aurora Willows. She wasn't your normal girl, she was a witch, and she came from a family that was very prestigious. But she was never considered family. Not just because of her looks but her personality.
The Willows family was a family of pure-blooded wizards, and she happened to be one of them. But still, everyone in her family asides from one person, disliked her. The Willows family was one of the great families that were (and still are aside from her) made up of all Slytherins, but from her personality everyone knew she wouldn't be one.
Another thing that set her apart from her family was her looks. Everyone in her family was very pale, like they had seen death and could not go back. This was probably because most of them had. Like most Slytherin families, they had served under the Dark Lord, and would gladly serve him again. Something she would never do.
Another setback in the looks department was that, everyone in her family either had prominent blonde hair, or black hair, nothing else. Hers was a red color that everyone in her family, aside from one person hated. Also her eyes, her family, everyone had blue or black eyes. She had green cat like eyes. Her eyes were not the normal hazel when you think green eyes. She has eyes that were so green, that it looked like wild grass grew there, like in a meadow.
Aurora was kind hearted and never spoke out of term. She only spoke when spoken to. She was respectful and did everything her mother told her to, but it was never, ever enough.
Her "mother" wasn't her real mother, but a stepmother. Her mother had died, before, she was born, strangely enough. Her father though, he loved Aurora like his life depended on it. He was around in the morning, for breakfast and he would brush Aurora's long red hair, which reached down to her waist, kiss her cheek and go off to work. While he was at work, her stepmother sneered at the thought of having a child so filthy as Aurora, and would lock her in her room all day.
She would read books about anything she could find, and her mother would hire private tutors to teach her what she would be learning at Hogwarts, if she had been allowed to go. When she would have been in her third year, her half-brother, Sebastian Willows, started his first year. She watched with envy in her eyes whenever they would drop him at Kings Cross Station.
Other than that, people would come teach her, she'd stay in her room the entire day. Only to come out for two reasons. Her dance lessons, her stepmother thought it only proper to learn how to properly dance, as well as ballet. The only other time was when her dad would come home, he would unlock the door and apologize to his daughter for the pain she had to go through.
Aurora would not let it get to her though. Then they'd have dinner, she'd take a bath and her father would come into her room before bed. He'd dry her hair, and tell her stories about her mother. He'd tell her great things about her real mother, what a wonderful witch she was and how much he loved her. Then he'd finish brushing his daughter's hair, flip through a magical photo album of photos that were filled with her mother and father, and her as a baby, then he'd kiss her goodnight and she'd sleep. Only to repeat everything again the next day, but she was okay with her sad life, she embraced it. How could she not, she had someone who loved her, who she loved, her father.
You see, Aurora was never supposed to be born. Her father being a Willow was never supposed to fall in love with her mother. Aurora never knew her mother's name, but it never bothered her. But Aurora's mother was a Gryffindor, whom were loathed by Slytherins. But alas, her father fell in love with the red headed green eyed girl, who was Aurora's mother. And they had a child together.
The Willows family half expected to be forced to have two "filthy" unwanted excuses for pure-bloods to their family. But somehow, Aurora was never told, her mother died. This made it known, that Aurora was the only one. The Willows family begged of Aurora's father to get rid of her when they found out she was still alive, but her father would not. So the family made a deal, her father would marry an appropriate woman for the family, and to hid Aurora away from the world, and he could keep her. Desperate her father agreed.
But Aurora learned her fragile life of staying her room and studying all day, or sneaking off with a certain professor to see the muggle world, was soon to come to an end.
That brings us to a month before this moment in which Aurora sits, at the highest point in the burrow, staring out a window. A month before, right when her brother Sebastian got back from Hogwarts, her father was faced with a tragic accident and died. Torn and heartbroken Aurora barely spoke to anyone after.
This was bad news to the Willows family, but good at the same time. Now they could get rid of the girl they never wanted, even though it cost them a son. So they sent the girl of to her godfather, Arthur Weasley. Arthur, who was Aurora's mother's close friend, she had asked him to take care of Aurora incase anything happened to her and Aurora's father.
And that time had come. Molly and Arthur Weasley, along with, Fred, George, Ron, Ginny, Charlie and Bill (Charlie and Bill had yet to meet her yet though) Weasley, welcomed Aurora to the family. She liked the Weasleys, they were kind to her, and did their best to be friends with her. But she was hurting inside; therefore she did not talk to them very often.
That leads us to right now….
Aurora was looking out at the dark sky, she had been thinking about her past, and time had flown. She hadn't moved from her spot since she had lunch. No one really bothered her. Ginny was in her room, looking for something to wear, Mrs. Weasley was knitting something before, but now was cooking in the kitchen. Charlie was in Romania and Bill was doing some work for Gringotts. But where were George, Fred, Ron and Mr. Weasley?
Aurora who was still sitting in her spot looking out the window, heard laughter coming from downstairs, knowing four members of her new family were back. Ginny who obviously was excited zipped down stairs, looking as cute as possible. It was latish now; maybe seven or eight, she wasn't too sure. But unlike Ginny, she stayed in her spot, only looking down stairs. But, Aurora returned to looking back out the window within a few seconds, losing interest, seeing as how she wasn't needed.
"Aura! Mum says foods ready," George perked standing right next to us.
"Let's go, she made lots more than usual, we have a guest," Fred said poking Aurora slightly.
"Who is it?" Aurora said in her normal voice, which was small and fragile, seeing as how she didn't talk much. The three of them slowly walked down stairs.
"Harry Potter!" the twins both exclaimed, hoping to excite their new sister. Nothing had done that in the past month she spent there.
"Really? I didn't know you guys were friends with him," Aurora said and she jumped down the last two steps.
"We meet him at his first year," Fred said.
"He didn't know how to get onto the plat form" George continued.
"Mum and Ron helped him," Fred shrugged.
"And he's been part of the family ever since," George said patting Aurora's back and they pointed out Harry Potter. He was sitting next to Ron, chatting about something. But then Ron looked at Aurora and gave her a small sheepish grin. One she returned with meek smile. This confused Harry, so he turned around and saw Aurora.
"Oh, hi. I'm Harry Potter," he said, smiling just as sheepishly as Ron. Aurora nearly broke into tears at the sight. Harry looked similar to her mother in many ways. She couldn't tell why, but he did.
"That's where you say, 'hello Harry', not look like your about to cry," George said. Aurora shot him a look, this shocked the three red headed boys. It was the first emotion other than sadness, or distance, she'd shown all month.
"I'm Aurora Willows," she mumbled, and sniffled a bit.
"Are you okay?" Harry asked, wondering what he did wrong.
"Yes, but you sort of look like…. My mother," she said. This shocked everyone, Harry mostly. This day was turning out to be interesting.
A/N: So I wasn't sure how to end it. I hope it wasn't too bad. No Draco yet, probably the next chapter, this is mostly and introduction of our OC. Aurora, I like that name, but next chapter I might just type her name as Aura not Aurora. I don't know, but whatever. Does anyone wonder why Aurora said that Harry looks like her mum? Find out next time!
Reviews, whether criticism, or anything else is always appreciated and needed. Feel free to point out errors in grammar and spelling, I'll fix it when I get the chance. Other than that, sorry for the bad ending, and I hope you guys liked it, the first of many, I hope.
