Drabbles – Blue – 100 Words

Alexander was of royal blue blood, a King in every sense of the word.

King, Sire, Your Highness…all names that he had earned not only by leadership and courage, but also sweat and blood. He was respected by many, feared by some and admired by most.

His kingdom grew with each passing year, increasing his subjects and lands that he ruled.

Alexander took great pride in his respect he had earned.

But the words that filled his heart and soul the fullest came from one voice, blue eyes and a smile Alexander would die for.

Not King, but my Alexander.

It was raining and had been for days. The sun had disappeared, seeming to have no plans of returning anytime soon.

The entire palace was in a blue mood. Tempers were getting shorter, laughter was heard less and boredom was becoming a problem.

Alexander knew something had to happen soon or things would get out of hand. He pulled Hephaestion aside and enlisted his help.

After much thought and planning, they were ready.

Calling everyone to the great hall the next morning, they announced that they were going to have a great hunt. Teams would be picked, including men, soldiers, wives, lovers and children and the first team to find all of the things on their list would be declared the winner. Prizes would be awarded to all who participated.

Some grumbling and moaning was heard and Alexander told them participation was not required but they were going to miss out on the fun.

The race began as the teams headed in different directions all trying to be the first done. Laughter and giggling soon replaced the grumbling and moaning.

The lists began getting shorter and for a time people forgot about the blues that had been bothering everyone and had a great time.

After the hunt concluded, a feast was set up in the dining hall and great prizes were awarded to each participate. Smiles had replaced frowns.

As the evening wound down, Hephaestion disappeared and scroll with a map appeared before Alexander discretely with his name on it. Following his map, Alexander found a very naked and enchanting Hephaestion lying on a big X in the middle of a bed.

The blanket covering the bed was the same shade of blue as the glint in Hephaestion's eyes.

He quickly dropped the scroll and went to claim his prize.
