In Love With You
Fitz was ready for his date with Simmons they have been dating for six months, even with the craziness at S.H.I.E.L.D with Daisy leaving and going rogue and with Coulson no longer director, he was happy things with her were going so great, and her promotion was a wonderful step for her, she has worked so hard to end up where she wanted to be, He was in charge of the Engineering department so career wise for both were right where they were supposed to be. He was in a basic black suit and tie, the little table was in the corner which was lit by a candle with wine glasses and the bottle was left. He got up when he saw Simmons walk up in a sparkly green dress with a green hair clip with curly hair that was halfway up.
"Simmons you look lovely tonight" Fitz said giving her a kiss and pulling the chair out for her to sit.
"Thank you Fitz, you look nice to"
"This is a nice spot away from nosy people" Simmons said looking at the menu taking a sip of wine.
"I wanted us to have some privacy, it's our sixth month anniversary and I didn't want anything or anyone to ruin it" Fitz said taking Simmon's hands smiling.
"It's been the best six months I've ever had and Fitz I think it's because we started off as friends not strangers"
"I agree, people say being friends before a romantic relationship has it's risks of going horribly wrong but we are different, because so much has happened before we started dating and all of those things have made us strong enough to get passed anything that could happen in the future"
"Your right, I don't think any other friends have been through what we have and stayed friends let alone start dating" She said pulling her chair closer to Fitz.
"I love you Simmons, more than anything in my life" Fitz says still holding her hands and looking in her eyes and smiling.
Simmons smiles back and says "I love you to Fitz" giving him a kiss.
"If my mum was here she couldn't get over the fact that I fell in love with my best friend. She would be so happy she adores you" Simmons added.
"My mum would be ok she knows I've always had a crush on you but never had the guts to say anything till that day at the bottom of the ocean" Fitz said.
"Yeah thanks to that day we made it through so much and we are sitting here today in love and happier than ever" Simmons says.
They hug and kiss, the waiter shows up Simmons re sets her seat to her side of the table , order their dinner and laugh over stories from their early years as friends back in the UK and some early S.H.I.E.L.D stories, all their worries from work left and what was left was laughter and their love for each other.
