Chapter One
Anko sighed and looked at her watch. Twenty minutes and counting. Where were those little kids she was supposed to teach? She sits back and stares at her last dumpling, wanting to savor it. A little laugh came from her left side and kept getting louder. More laughs. Cute little six-year old laughs. As much as Anko hated kids she couldn't help but smile.
As they got closer she realized they WERE cute. Still innocent of everything that can possibly go wrong on these missions. Man, kids started training early these days. She looked harder. Oh crap. An Uchiha. She could tell by the sour look on the girl's face and black hair. Oh, well. She'll have to make the best of this one. The little one with the black tail-looking thing came up and hugged Anko around the legs. Is that really a tail? Weird things in Konoha.
Tail girl looked up at Anko, eyes shining. "Sensei? Will we start training today? Is being a ninja fun? "
Fun? She never thought about it. Maybe it could be. Maybe this would be fun and easy. Like child's play.
But that was long ago. Things are weirder now. Teenagers and their hormone angst battles was more like it than missions. Anko felt like a true teacher the year she turned 21. Almost like a babysitter.
Sydney obviously had an angst-muffin for breakfast, since she was being one. Alana was fixing her ponytail over by the little river they found during their rest, which was supposed to have ended 10 minutes ago. Stephanie was reading up on jutsus and Taiyo's eyes were threatening to close, sending her into a deep sleep. Anko wasn't even training them that hard. This is going to be a long year, and it just started!
"OK girls, back to work!"
The girls sighed a complaining sigh, but did what they were told anyway. Anko sat on a large rock and continued eating dumplings while she watched her students throw shuriken at random targets.
Her eyes shifted over to Taiyo with her poofy tail flowing in the wind as she bent over to pick up her dropped shuriken. She was a little disorganized, Anko decided. Anko looked a bit longer at her while she was training. Taiyo really grew up this summer. She was filling out nicely.
Anko blushed and turned away to look at the river. What was she now? The perverted old man down the street? She glanced back at her student and realized she was starting to sweat from working hard with the weapons. Anko started to sweat too, but because she was embarrassing herself. Stop realizing that your student is now a young adult now. A hot young adult. With a tail.
Anko didn't realize that she spaced out until someone blocked out the sun. It was Alana, causing an eclipse with her height.
"Anko-sensei?"
She snapped back to reality. "Yes?"
Sydney walked up. "Training's over. Can we go home now?" Her green eyes pierced into everything it looked at, and right now Anko was getting eye-piercings. Maybe she could put earrings in them.
She glanced at her watch. It WAS time to go.
"OK." She nodded and stood up.
The girls smiled and started running towards home.
Now they have energy.
