A/N: In case you have a hard time telling who's who, chapter one has JD!Luke, Dr Cox!Jade, Carla!Tear and Turk!Guy.

-----------------------------------

"Well, things have been going alright here at Sacred Heart. I've started thinking about what things would be like if we were all somebody else," JD thought to himself. Almost as soon as that thought had finished he zoned of into one of his typical daydream trances...

Luke followed Jade around the hospital like a kitten chasing a piece of string. "Y'see Dr Cox I was thinking..."

Jade cut him off before he could finish whatever he was about to say,"Look, Lucy, I get tired of listening to you day in and day out. I know you somehow got it into your stupid little head that I'm your mentor. But I am no more your mentor than I want anything to do with you. Now go find someone else to annoy the hell out of."

Luke felt slightly dejected as he went off to check on his patients. He got his chart from Tear and went to visit his first patient of the day. He flipped through the chart to check what he was dealing with. "Good morning..." He glanced at the chart, "Mr Edgeworth. It looks like you have appendicitus."

The young prosecutor frowned slightly upon hearing this. He knew he'd have to have surgery and he would't be able to work for a few days. Hopefully no important cases would come up while he was in the hospital.

Luke looked at his chart again. "You're going to need surgery as soon as possible. If we wait your appendix could burst and you'd probably die. Fortunately we have one of the best surgeons in the hospital to perform the surgery," Luke's face lit up as Guy, his best friend throughout college and Med School appeared in the doorway.

"Alright, what've we got here?" guy asked, grabbing the chart from Luke. "Hmm...appendicitis. Easy enough to fix." He grinned. "You ready to get rid of that appendix?" Guy asked the prosecutor.

Edgeworth nodded. "I might as well get this over with, the sooner I can get back to work the better."

Luke grinned and patted him on the shoulder "That's the spirit"

Guy brought Edgeworth to the operating room trying to avoid female staff as much as possible. Unfortunately as he passed the nurse's station Tear stopped him for a quick word.

"Guy, I was thinking we could go out to dinner tonight, our anniversary is coming up."

Guy looked at her, trying to remember why he had even married her considering he had severe gynophobia. "Sure whatever you say, honey. Now I've got this patient to take care of," he nodded at Edgeworth.

Tear smiled, "Alright, I'll catch you later."

Guy sighed and continued on his way to the operating room with Edgeworth, glad Tear hadn't tried to kiss him.
