Hi Everyone!
It's been a while since I posted anything.
A few weeks ago I had my English HSC Trial and I wrote this for the creative writing Section. Amazingly, this very short fic received a 12/15 from a hard marker.
I hope you enjoy it!
I was disappointed... Ivan had failed to come again. He was always doing something like this saying that he would be there when in fact he never showed up.
Black clouds floated on cool breezes across the grey skies as I began to walk back the way I had come. The deliciously delicate breeze ruffled the blond hair at the back of my neck, the puddles of water left from the previous rain reflected my bright blue eyes.
Struggling with the knowledge that I had been yet again let down by the tall Russian, I swallowed the truth and felt it slide down into the pit of my stomach and change into an incredibly sick feeling. His violet eyes framed by a veil of platinum blonde hair floated through my mind, teasing me with an unfamiliar ache.
I picked up the pace until I was running down the street, fighting the waves of everyday citizens, fighting the tears that threatened to spill down my pale cheeks at the drop of a hat. The pain was too great, just knowing that I had been abandoned again was too much. The beating of my heart was like the fluttering of a birds wings, wavering and uncertain as the world hurtled by.
He said... He said..., I thought unable to finish the sentence at the risk of breaking down in the middle of the pathway, without looking I walked onto the road and came face to face with a truck.
The horns blaring didn't seem to register as the vehicle sped towards me, the world seemed to move in slow motion, visions began tearing at my heart.
The sound of his laugh, the smell of his skin and the texture of his hair assaulted my senses, sending the world into a spiral of technicolour. But those eye's, those amethyst eyes hit me last like a brick, the tears fell and I couldn't stop them, just like I couldn't stop the woman screaming across the road.
Just like I couldn't stop the strong arms wrapping around my smaller frame and pulling me back onto the footpath just as the truck zoomed past. I panted, shaking with dread. I almost died, I thought, I could have died.
Turning to thank my saviour I found Ivan, the boy I was meant to meet, the boy I belonged with. His smile permeated the frost that had pierced at my heart, unthinking I leaped into his strong arms and pressed my lips to his.
This is where I belong...
I would be very interested to know what you think so please Review and thank you for reading.
