Chapter 1:

It was a Tuesday night. Dick Grayson a.k.a Robin was at the Mockridge Mansion in Daniel Mockridge's bedroom. He was there to protect Mockridge from The Riddler. His partner, Batman had an important business meeting as Bruce Wayne elsewhere and couldn't make it. So he was there instead. Daniel Mockridge was nowhere near an innocent man. He was the reason Edward Nygma became The Riddler in the first place. He had screwed him over on his game, "The Riddle Of The Minator." Mockridge made millions of the game while Eddie didn't earn a penny. Now he was living in fear of Eddie's return.

Daniel Mockridge was a wealthy man. So he decided to hire protection. He thought the police were powerless so he turned to Batman. However when it was Robin who showed up, he was less than pleased.

"He sent you? But I want Batman! You're just his sidekick! What can you do?" Daniel whined.

"Mr. Mockridge, I told you, Batman is not available right now. I am your only option. Do you want my protection or not?" Robin asked.

"Yes, please. Don't leave me alone." Daniel begged.

He decided to get ready for bed. He put on some pjs and a robe.

Then he climbed into bed.

"Are you comfy, sir?" Robin asked.

"Yes. But are you sure nothing will happen to me when the Riddler shows up?" Daniel asked, anxiously pulling the covers close to him.

"Yes, Mr. Mockridge. I'm here. Nothing's going to happen. Now go to sleep." Robin said, reassuringly. Robin turned out the light and sat in a chair close to the door. Mockridge tried to relax and sleep.

About five minutes later, he awoke.

"Robin, can you get me a glass of water?" he asked.

"Sure." Robin replied. He then walked down the hall and brought back a glass of water to Mockridge.

"Thank you, good night." Mockridge said.

"Goodnight." Robin replied, going back and sitting in the chair.

"It's going to be a long night." Robin thought to himself.

To be continued.
