Long time love…
Cloud paced slowly down the empty, decaying slums of midgar. Nothing seemed to be alive- everything, frozen in time- just the way Cloud liked it. Out of the blue, a drop of water bounced of his head and caught his attention. He looked up- the crack in the plate. Sunlight shone through, although rain drizzled lightly over the area the crack covered. The combination shone a vast variety of colours- causing Cloud to cover his eyes with the back of his hand. He walked faster- in an effort to relive himself of the happy, bright scene, … after all, Cloud wasn't in a happy mood- he never was. Finally, Cloud stopped. He looked around him-self, to see the real reason behind his depression, Aeris . He had stumbled into her garden, the little cottage she lived in, still in tact. He was amazed. The plants were still alive! He could have sworn she had never left. It was a haven- in the midst of hell. He didn't need this-a reminder of his lost love. Not three years after her devastating death- Not now. He wouldn't remember. Yet, he did. He ran away from the house- from the garden. To the spot of Rain he once ran through. It was raining heavy now- and it was darker. Cloud stopped for a minute. And it was then everything came back. Not that it wasn't already there. Then he thought of Tifa. The girl that gives him the love he can never return. It was all just too much… Too much, for Cloud. And for the first time ever- Cloud lost it. He fell to his knees, head in hands, thinking of nothing but her, about her soft green eyes, her tanned flesh, her long pink dress. It was then that Cloud realised Aeris Gainsborough is perfect, in every way. Her flaws, her childness, her silly girly giggle, her innocence, made Aeris perfect. He opened his eyes, and looked to the sky, and for one moment, Cloud's life with passed by. What it could have been, they're wedding, having children, growing old together, dieing together. It was all perfect. For one moment, there was no Sepiroth. For one moment, there never was a Sepiroth, never a meteor, never a Jenova. The moment passed so quickly, Cloud never got to say one thing. "I love you"
Note: Thanks for taking time to read it. This was my first Fanfic, so go easy with the Reviews! I wrote this story while listening to Will Young's new song, ( thus the cheesy story). Please visit my final fantasy site, www.joelsfinalfantasyblog.
