"You know what," Balley said, "I'm out of here"

"Balley," Cody argued, "I don't understand"

"THAT'S THE PROBLEM," Balley yelled, "Look if you were right I wouldn't be mad. Frustrated maybe- and disapointed in all likelihood but not mad. But in trying not to play favorates you did play favorates... with everyone else"
Balley turned to leave and then turned back.

"When you understand what you did get back to me"
Zack was out walking when he saw his brother looking really upset.

"Cody," he asked, "You okay?"

"No Zack," Cody said, "I am not okay. Balley's mad at me and I don't understand why."
He told Zack the stary.

"Yeah that proves it," Zack said, "YOU'RE AN IDIOT!"

"Zack!"

"Look, Codster you're my brother and I love you but you're an idiot"

"Can you maybe explain," Cody asked.

"Okay," Zack said as if talking to a 3-year-old, "Rule number 1 in a relationship is ((he slapped him upside the head)) NEVER SAY TO A GIRL that you're dating. You never say that to ANY GIRL but especially not the girl your dating"

"I couldn't ignore the situation,." Cody pointed out

"Cody," Zack said, "THE SITUATION EXISTS ONLY IN YOUR MIND"

"Okay," Cody said, "I get the point but what am I supposed to do. They'll think I'm playing favorates"

"Who are 'they'," Zack asked, "and who gives a damn what 'they' think?"

"How could you not care about what other people think"

"Why should I care," Zack asked, "Other people can be stupid"

"I just don't think I did anything wrong," Cody said

"Put yourself in Balley's shoes. How would you feel?"

"I would understand when I'm wrong I have to accept that"

"AND IF I WAS WRONG," Balley said interjecting in their conversation, "I WOULD ACCEPT IT. BUT I WASN'T WRONG. YOU KNOW ADDISON STARTED IT"

"I- I know but Addison is immature and besides... I don't want to be with Addison."
If this were a TV show instead of a fanfiction story music would be playing in the background.

"You don't," Balley asked softly

"No. Balley don't you understand. I wanted to be with YOU. I wanted us to talk through whatever was happening and fix it. Granted I didn't handle it in the best way but I didn't know what the best thing to do is. Balley... I love you. I wanted to tell you that I love you."

"That was the first time you ever said 'I love you' to me"

"Well... maybe Zack's right. Maybe I'm stupid. I should have told you that I love you from the minute I realized I was in love with you."

"I guess I could squeeze in some time for dinner with you tonight," Balley said blushing

"You will? Oh that's great," Cody exclaimed.
Balley walked away smiling. For the first time in awhile Cody was smiling.
