Don't Take the Girl
Elijah and Elena have known each other since they were in diapers, and both hate each other with equal disgust. Elijah's father is taking him to the park today for what Elijah thought would be a father son day when a young eight year old Elena runs out of her house with her pig tails swinging in the air.
"Dad please don't take her!" "Elijah, son you say that now but one day in the future when you fall in love with a beatiful girl just like Elena you'll change your mind." Mikael said bending down to his level. "Yuck! No I won't. But can we take Damon or Stefan Salvatore or even my best friend Jeremy, Elena's brother?" Just don't take the girl."
Its been ten years to the day that Elijah begged his dad not to take Elena to the park with them that day. Mikael said he would change his mind and oh boy was he right about that even if he hated to admit it. "I love you." Elena said giving him a kiss as they left the movies. Just as Elijah was about to tell her the same thing a man came from nowhere and grabbed his love by the arm pulling a gun on her. "Do what I say and no one gets hurt!"
Elena's eyes went huge in fear and pleading with Elijah. "Here! Here! Here! Take all my money take everything I have! But please don't take the girl." Elijah practically screamed. The stranger looked at the money and snatched it from Elijah's hand and ran away. "My hero!" Elena shouted throwing herself into his arms. "I would have given my life to get you back Elena." She gave him another kiss and they walked home hand in hand.
It's now five years later, and Elijah is at the hospital with his recently given birth wife when he sees a nurse who tells him the most amazing news in the world, followed by the most heartbreaking news. "Mr. Mikaelson your son is her and strong and healthy, but you need to leave the room because Mrs. Mikaelson will be gone soon. Elijah's heart breaks instantly, he drops to his knees and pleads to God to take Elena's place. "I can't do this alone not without Elena. God please don't take the girl."
