Ugh! It was driving him crazy! Every time they finally started a conversation, she would just get angry at him for no reason at all, and stomp off!
Was he saying something wrong? No, that couldn't be it. They were only talking about Momo. How could that make her so angry?
She's just been acting so weird lately. They couldn't talk without fighting, she avoided him whenever possible, even interrupted him every time he started conversation with another member of the gang! Saying things like,"Oh, I need Aang for training now. No time for talking." or "The Duke! Zuko has chores to be doing. Why don't you come over here and help me take care of this?" Zuko barely ever got in any more than two sentences in this place. It's time he try and make some peace around here.
"Ahem! What are you doing?"
Zuko jumped. "Umm. Katara! Hi. I was just...uhh...doing the dishes for you...I thought you might want a break since you work so hard and...yeah."
"Just so you know, I am completely capable of cleaning up after all you on my own!" She shouted the last part. Why is she so angry? He thought. He was only trying to help out.
She was so frustrating! Stay calm Zuko. You are just trying to get her to not hate you.
"Besides, you missed a spot right there." She pointed at a perfectly clean bowl.
"Did not! What is your problem! You never let me talk to you or anyone else here for more than thirty seconds, you are always avoiding me, and every time I look at you, you get angry and stomp off! Is there any way to make you NOT hate me!" So much for staying calm...
That set her off. "UGH! Just SHUT! UP! You wanna know the reason I am always avoiding you! Because your just so cute and I can't stand it and-" Cute? What? He was now absolutely confused.
"Frustrating! I meant frustrating! You are so frustrating and I can't stand it!" She was beet red now. Had she really just said he was cute? He is though, she thought. He is cute and she admits it. But lots of guys are cute. That doesn't mean anything. Right?
"Well..I'm sorry. I will try to be less...frustrating. I'm gonna go now." Wow, that was weird. Zuko walked back to his room, trying to figure out what just happened.
