It's been mere hours since Shepard destroyed the reapers. The whole of London destroyed. But the people are all hugging and celebrating in the streets, the war is over! The reapers are dead. Nothing left to harm them and there is no time like the present to celebrate, after thinking for months that you might die; As the soldiers help the deceased and injured and searched for their war hero hoping she wasn't dead too. Shepard opens her eyes unsure if what she see's is real or a dream. Kate tries to move, but soon realizes there is nowhere she can go and no way of moving. She's trapped under 10 tonnes of rubble. She tries her hardest to move her fingers and the same with her toes to make sure she hasn't damaged her spine. Being out in the field for so long has it's advantages, it helps to understand what you need to check first. First the fingers and the toes, then check for headaches or nausea, lastly major blood loss. It helps to uncover most things wrong when you are stuck in a bad situation.
"Right Kate, Stay calm." The only other thoughts going through her mind is of how to survive. "How do I get outta here? Can people hear me? Are they even looking for me, surely they must be?" All her insecurities, small and big start at her. Making her feel less confident on survival. Unsure if she was ever going to be found or if she would ever get to say goodbye to her loved ones.
Kate shouted as loud as she could but it only comes out as a whimper, "Oh goddamn it! I'm never getting outta here! I'm gonna die here. I'm never going to get to see Kaidan again." Just as the thought had crossed her mind and started to settle, she hears 2 soldiers talking " Come on, we can't leave here until we find Commander Shepard." Once again Kate tries to shout but it's still just a whisper. She tries to move and make a noise, any noise but the movement sends sharp shooting pains through her entire body. She yelps in pain and screams out and this time it actually makes a noise, a noise loud enough to catch someones attention.
The two soldiers turn towards the noise. "John, you look that side and i'll look over here."
"Okay Roth will do, be careful." They go their separate ways and Roth circles around Shepard twice before actually setting eyes on her face. He calls over to John and they try to shift some of the rubble.
"They are too large for just the two of us. There is no way we can lift this without assistance. Also Shepard doesn't look to be in the best shape"
As John talks he turns towards Kate. Kate had now fallen unconscious. Rushing around John and Roth try to get help as quickly as humanly possible and to try and keep Commander Shepard alive.
