Please note that I do not own Naruto or any of its characters!
Also I may like to add that this is my first try in writing anything is 3rd person as well as my first try in writing fanfiction in foreign language.
Enjoy!
It was quiet and peaceful night. It was in the small hours that were too late to be called night but too early to be called day. The almost full moon was on its way to set down. There was nobody on the streets. A few unidentified shadows were moving fast and quiet on the rooftops. As it seems the village could never be truly asleep. Which was no surprise considering the fact that in was a shinobi village. A figure of a man was sitting on top of the stone faces. With a small book in one of his hands and a bottle of sake in the other he was staring unseeingly into the sky. His mind was wandering and as he tried to take another sip from the bottle he realized he was more drunk than he had been since the third war ended but still not as drunk as he wished to be. A small sigh escaped his lips and he closed his visible eye lifting the bottle again.
His chest was burning and it wasn`t the sake. It was something deeper, stronger and it hurt him in a way he thought he would never be able to feel again. It was almost unbearable. He was tough. He had loved, he had fought, he had lost and he had lived. But this… This was something different. It was more painful than any wound he had ever had and believe me when I say this he has had his fair share of really nasty and deadly ones. Still he had survived. He had thought he was prepared for anything that could possibly happen to him but it turns out he was never prepared for her.
Long pink hair, deep jade eyes, extremely attractive, sexy and feminine curves, sensual lips and outstandingly strong character…. She was everything he had never had the courage to wish for and yet she was his former student and she was fourteen years his junior. He watched her grow – from being twelve, obsessed with her teammate and always thinking more of her looks than her performance as a ninja to being twenty, strong, independent, with almost perfect chakra control and being such a good medic that sometimes it was frightening. Despite her tendency for bursting out and smacking everybody that dared to be rude she had deeply caring personality. She would always try to help everybody with a small friendly smile on her lips. He had seen her trying to heal people when she herself suffered severe chakra depletion that had led to her fainting.
A small smile curved his lips as he drank again from the bottle. He couldn`t feel the taste of the drink anymore. He also couldn`t feel how it burned him as he drank again. He was completely numb for everything that wasn`t somehow even in the slightest related to her. He loved her. He loved her so much that he couldn`t bear to feel it anymore. He tried to drown the feelings but it seems they had learned how to swim. He tried to kill them by taking the most dangerous missions and completing them successfully. But in the end of the day she was always there with her cold gentle fingers and her soothing medical chakra, with her deep and worried eyes and with her sincere desire to help him. But she couldn`t. He wouldn`t let her. He could not let her. Because he knew. He knew that if she was to find out about his feelings it would hurt her and if there was something in this world that he couldn`t bear it was seeing her hurt. Seeing her jade eyes fill with tears as the small smile that always melted his heart disappear of her face.
So there he was, on top of the stone faces trying to drown his feelings in alcohol. He was dead drunk and he knew that tomorrow he would have one hell of a hangover but it didn`t matter as long as there was something to numb that burning pain in his chest. Because he knew that no matter what he felt for her he could never tell. She was happy with another and despite the pain he felt all he ever wanted for her was to be happy.
