A.N.: This is a quick little thing that I wish I could see on the show. It doesn't really fit into an episode, but I think it's nice.
Timothy McGee sighed as he went into the elevator. He hadn't used in a long time, but he didn't think he should try to tackle the steps just yet. He went in with some difficulty. In the silence of a lonely ride, he thought of the other night.
The team was heading out to get someone in for interrogation. They were in the suburbs, where anyone could hear them.
"DiNozzo, McGee, take the back," Gibbs said. The two agents went around the house and waited a moment before entering. Almost instantly, McGee felt lightheaded. The last thing he saw was DiNozzo trying to keep him on his feet.
The next thing he knew, he was laying on the lawn with Gibbs and Tony looking up at him. He felt pain in his leg and tried to stand up.
"Don't,Tim," his boss said. He knew whatever happened had to have been bad if he was being called Tim.
"Where's Ziva?" he asked.
"She took the scumbags to interrogation," Tony said, "Serves them right, trying to take us hostage."
This all went through his brain ten times slower than usual.
"Can you move your leg?" Gibbs asked.
He got out of the elevator carefully. He had to be careful. He hadn't used crutches since he was sixteen. He was barely into Abby's lab when she spun around.
"Hi, Gibbs! Oh, my god, McGee what happened to you?" she cried.
"I'm okay, Abs. It's just my leg."
She wasn't listening, though. She had already come over to hug him. Rather awkwardly, he attempted to hug her back.
"What'd they do to you?" she whispered.
"It's okay, Abby. I'm okay."
"But what if you weren't?"
"I'd still be here."
"Really?"
He kissed her on the cheek.
"I will always be with you."
A.N.: I had to do that ending line that way. I mean, it's a parody of one of his most popular roles: Binx! So, if you could review, that'd mean the world to me! Bye!
