Alone
Tears rolled down her face, she wiped them away as quickly as possible but he still saw them. He reached out to place a hand on her hers but she pulled away before he could connect "Lucy are you alright?"
"Natsu" she whispered "you left me alone. Why did you leave?" as she said this more tears began to fall. He tried to pull her close but she pulled away and walked towards the bed. He walked over to her slowly and before she could protest he pulled her close, she tried to pull away but his grip was too tight.
"Natsu, let me go" she said as she tried to break free.
"No, Luce" he replied as he tried to comfort her. She kept trying to pull away and then began to hit his chest with her fists, he placed a hand over hers and stilled her movements. She sobbed and sobbed against his chest. Natsu held her until her shaking has subsided. He lifted her chin so he could look her in the eyes. He wiped away any remaining tears and whispered "Lucy, I'm sorry."
She stared at his as if anticipating an explanation. He unwrapped his arms from around her and ran his fingers through his hair. "Lucy, I didn't leave to hurt you…. I just" he trailed off.
She stared at him intently as he slumped down onto the floor. "Lucy, I had just lost my Igneel, I watched my dad die. I left because, well because…" once again he trailed off. He couldn't speak, suddenly, he felt a huge weight on his chest, he couldn't breathe, he couldn't think. All the emotions he had kept bottled up finally broke free and soon tears began to fall. When Lucy saw the first tear fall she knelt in front of him and reached out to pull him to her chest, she held him close and soothed him by running her fingers through his hair.
When he stopped she whispered, "I understand Natsu?" He looked up at her and smiled weakly, he placed his forehead against hers and they both closed their eyes. Once they opened their eyes Lucy leaned forward and placed her lips gently on his. Natsu raised his eyebrows in surprise but soon returned the kiss.
She pulled away and said "Natsu, promise me that you'll never leave me again."
Natsu grinned goofily and hugged her as he said, "I promise."
