Good bye Athrun

Never again will she see his midnight blue hair,

Goodbye Athrun,

Never again will she see his beautiful green eyes,

Goodbye Athrun,

Never again will she see him in his zaft uniform,

Goodbye Athrun,

Never again will she see his comforting smile smiling at her,

Goodbye Athrun,

Never again will she sit and watch him get his clothes off her floor,

Goodbye Athrun,

Never again will she walk into her shower and hear him give a 'hey',

Goodbye Athrun,

Cagalli had wiped the tears from her eyes as she finished her poem, opening a box she placed the white folded paper into the box and put it away.

On the outside she looked as though she was at peace with herself, but inside there was a war waging full of regrets on one side and on the other, her duty.

'Athrun was a phase' she had told herself over and over again. But even now she knew those words were fake. Athrun was her light to her dark, castle to her land. And now he was her nothing.

As much as she loved him, she had let him go knowing that the words she had left him with crushed his whole being.

Now as she stood outside of the church that held the wedding of Athrun and Meer, she felt lost almost dead inside.

The doors opened and people poured out and stood either side of the doors awaiting the groom and his bride, as they walked out people threw rice over their heads as they cheered.

Cagalli stood there and watched as they happy couple laughed making her feel even worse, before she turned her back she caught the eyes of Athrun, he gave her a smile that made her heart race and thump against her ribs making them hurt. She knew that smile; it was the he had when he was truly happy. And for her, no matter how much she hated herself that second, it felt like something had been lifted from her shoulders. She smiled back and gave a nod of the head before leaving.

She did the right thing, he wasn't meant for her to begin with, and now he was happy even if she felt like crap he was happy and that helped ease her mind a little.

A small smile graced her lips as she smiled to no one and whisper to Athrun, wherever he was now,

"Goodbye Athrun."
