In English today, my teacher asked us to find a sonnet by Shakespeare, I chose one I was fairly familiar with, and then she told us to rewrite it in a modern context, and since all I ever have on my mind is fanfiction, it ended up fitting Drarry, but I'm sure it can be read in many other ways. It's all about personal readings.

Shakespeare's sonnet number 18

Shall I compare thee to a Summer's day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate:

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

And Summer's lease hath all too short a date:

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And oft' is his gold complexion dimm'd;

And every fair from fair sometime declines,

By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd:

But thy eternal Summer shall not fade

Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;

Nor shall Death brag thou wanderest in his shade,

When in eternal lines to time thou growest:

So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,

So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Shall I compare thee

By Scream

Shall I compare thee to a winter's night?

Chilled and dark, they have a right to fear you;

You have a beauty, that none can capture

Taking control of those around you,

I couldn't help but slip into your embrace.

Your presence is remembered, a name,

Your look, with ghost white skin,

And piercing gaze, twinkling with stars,

Darkness sweeps around you

A persona you hold close as hope is dimmed

Your coldness gives you control

But that's what is expected of you;

So long as people fear you and your name,

So long as I follow you, your name is upheld.

AN/ Hope you liked it. If there are spelling/grammer/etc or anything you feel can improve it, let me know. I enjoy writing poetry and love feed back.
