Mika Week 2016 - Day 3
Prompt: Left Behind
Thanks to Daylilly and Cagedgalaxy for giving me inspiration!
Also, this is slightly crack-ish.
He'd fallen behind.
He was supposed to take a left turn but he'd taken a right, now he wasn't sure where he was.
"Mika! I kind of need assistance over here!"
"I'm coming, Yuu-chan."
Yuu was surprisingly good at this, despite not playing too many videos game when he was younger. Mika didn't know what he was doing. First there was cars and racing, now there was monster and fighting, which they had too much of in their real life anyway, but Yuu-chan seemed to like it.
Mika had gotten into a car, since he needed to get more supplies? He didn't know. He thinks they needed more bullets or something, but this game didn't make any sense. Yuu-chan seemed to understand it, but he couldn't tell if the boy was just mindlessly slashing at things or not. Either way, it seemed to work.
"Mika!" Yuu somewhat whined.
"I'm coming." Mika repeated.
Really, Mika wouldn't be in this situation if Yuu hadn't gone ahead and left him behind, deciding to go take on the monsters ahead of them. The monsters hadn't noticed them yet, at least Mika thinks, but Yuu thought it was a good idea to eliminate them now.
Now Yuu was in a jam and Mika couldn't go help him.
He'd gotten the bullets they apparently needed, even though when they started playing the game they'd picked swords as their weapon, but the game didn't make sense so whatever. He'd taken a wrong turn and now he had no clue where he was.
He was trying to get back to Yuu-chan, but he wasn't sure if he was going further away from him or not.
It was when his car flipped over that he realized this game made literally no sense. There was no way to strategize in it. There was probably no actual way to get back to Yuu-chan, and if there was, it would just be by chance.
"I died!" Yuu cried, throwing the controller down.
Mika sighed in relief. Hopefully now that the 'game over' appeared on the screen Yuu would want to stop playing.
"What happened?" Yuu asked Mika, curios as to why Mika hadn't come to save him.
"The game's impossible, Yuu-chan. It doesn't make any sense." Mika told him.
"It does!" Yuu protested.
Mika raised his eyebrow.
"It...it sort does, anyway." Yuu admitted, scratching the back of his neck.
Kimizuki had hooked up the TV they'd found, and Yuu had surprisingly figured out how to make the game work. Not the video game console, Kimizuki figured that out too.
"Well, we'll have to find a game that makes more sense then. I didn't really understand why you had to go get grapefruits anyway."
Grapefruits? He was supposed to be getting grapefruits? Why would the game want him to get grapefruits?!
"The game makes absolutely no sense..." Mika said, more to himself then Yuu-chan.
"Kimizuki actually found the sequel to it earlier." Yuu said, holding up a slightly battered video game case.
"Yuu-chan...no." Mika said, taking away the game. "Let's go play some cards with everyone, they're in the kitchen, right?" Mika said, grabbing Yuu's hand and leading him there.
Of course, he'd rather just sit with Yuu-chan, but he'd do anything to not have to endure that torture again.
Just as he thought this, the people who were supposed to be playing the card game came in.
"We've come to check out the video game Yuu-san found." Shinoa said.
Mika took Yuu and ran.
