The union aerospace corporation is the largest corporation in existence. With unlimited funds and the ability to experiment outside of moral and legal obligations the U.A.C holds the most advanced technology ever conceived.

250 million miles from earth, lies what we know as the red planet… Mars. This planet is void of all life and empty. A desert. But after humans have developed the technology necessary to terraform other worlds a company known as the U.A.C decided to seize an opportunity. The U.A.C began terraforming mars sometime in the 2090's and founded mars city soon after. Eventually they even set up bases on mars' two moons Phobos and Deimos. Mars city serves as both an actual habitable area for employees and a place where people are processed and sent to their proper posts.

A new shipment of marines was due in mars city. They were upping security due to lowering moral among the employees and technicians. People have been complaining of strange occurrences. Voices and whispering inside the walls and people seeing apportions, standard superstitious nonsense. There was also a sudden rash of nightmares among the mars city inhabitants… They all shared similar characteristics. Satanic imagery and bizarre creatures and screaming. This new shipment of marines was due to arrive on Oct, 28th, 2145. Upon arrival, the group of 15 soldiers are sectioned off and shown to their quarters. One marine, a red and black hedgehog, was due to report to his commanding officer for orders later in afternoon of Oct, 29th, 2145.

The alarm rang on his clock at around 8:35 AM. "Gah… What? Oh right" Shadow grumbled to himself stumbling out of bed and walking over to the nearby dresser in his quarters, his quarters which consisted of a small bathroom and cramped shower and a single bed. All the walls in the place were cold steel and industrial metal. The lights were fluorescent and everything had a strange blue tinge to it. After getting dressed in his marine uniform shadow left his quarters and out into the halls of the Martian base. The steel panels on the walls had fallen away in some areas revealing wiring and pipes carrying water and other fluids. The smell of this place was somewhere between an old warehouse and a gym. After wandering through the halls shadow finally found the command center and was greeted inside by captain Eric Coleman. "Where the hell have you been? You're 30 minutes behind schedule!"

"Ya, I was just admiring the scenery! Ya know a sign or two wouldn't hurt." shadow snapped. "Right… I'll make a note of that" The sarcasm evident in Eric's voice. "Any who, you are to report to the armory and get your ass over to the teleportation chamber for transfer to Phobos." Shadow remained silent. "Do I make myself clear private?" Shadow mumbles something under his breath. Somehow Eric knew it was a smart-ass comment. "What was that?" Eric said. "I said I saw a piece of shit on the ground today…" "Oh really!? Well isn't that interesting… Do enlighten me private." Eric retorted sarcastically. "It reminded me of you…" shadow replied. "Get your ass to the armory before I kick yours!" Shadow turned and left the room with the various men at the different control panels and computers in the command center snickering to themselves.
