"did you figure out what you're going name her?" lorelai asked her daughter while using her hand to gesture towards her granddaughter.

"what? oh ya i did." cassandra said coming out of daze, she was happy that she had a daughter but she couldn't help thinking about jess and how he's not there.

"oh my god! she's so cute! what are you going to name her?" rory asked as she walked into the room.

"rory, let your sister rest." lorelai told her other daughter.

"mom, really it's fine." cassandra said as she pointed at her sister to come and sit in the chair beside her mother.

"okay, so what did you name her?" rory asked excitedly.

"umm, isabella lorelai gilmore mariano. it's italian." cassie said quietly waiting for their response.

"wow." lorelai and rory said in unison quietly.

"you guys don't have to act like someone just died." cassandra said reassuring them.

"are you sure?" lorelai asked concerned.

"yes and if you wanted to pretend that you were happy for me you wouldn't be pointing it out because i already know that. you would be excited that i named my fuckin' child after you." cassandra said starting to get angry at her mother.

"cassie, i am happy for you." lorelai told her.

"no your not."

"and what makes you think that?"

"because after i told luke that i was pregnant and he told me to go check the storage room you told him that i was another gilmore to disappoint the family name." she said with tears stinging her eyes.

"do we have to do this?" cassie asked her mom as they stood in front of Luke's Diner.

"yes we do. you have to tell him." lorelai told her daughter who was standing beside her still half asleep.

"but couldn't we have done it later and not at 5:45am?" cassandra asked as she checked her phone for the time.

"no! we're doing this now, okay?" lorelai snapped.

"geez, okay."

"hey lukie." lorelai teased as she walked into luke's with cassie following behind her.

"what do you wan- oh hey cass." luke said politely.

"hey. sorry you had to miss the baseball game yesterday but we won if that makes you feel any better." cassie told luke as she sat at the counter and her mother following her to sitting beside her.

"so how come you two are here?" he asked as he started a pot of coffee.

"umm, cassie actually has to talk to you about something." lorelai said looking at luke and then at cassie.

"actually i do." cassie said quietly in almost a whisper.

"oh okay, what is it?" luke asked turning his head to look at cassie.

"well umm here goes nothing. i-i'm pregnant." cassie said as she looked at luke with
disappointment in her eyes.

"oh." luke said in a whisper.

"that's it?" cassandra asked.

"wait for it." lorelai butted in.

just after lorelai said that luke turned around to grab the phone off of the wall.

"luke! what are you doing?" cassandra practically screamed.

"calling jess." luke said in an angry tone.

"no! you can't." cassandra said in a tone that was almost a pleaded beg.

"why?" luke asked confused but all he got in response was cassie looking down at the counter.

"she didn't tell jess." lorelai said softly as she saw the upset look on her daughters face.

"what! why not?" luke asked trying to lower his voice.

"i was going to tell him but when i went upstairs he wasn't there neither were any of his books and then i knew he was gone." cassie said as she blinked back tears.

"oh okay. i won't tell him." luke said as he touched her hand.

"really?" her eyes brightened up.

"ya sure. just go into the storage room and do some stock for me please." luke told her.

"ya of course. thank you." she smiled and walked into the storage room.

"so wow." luke sighed as he turned to lorelai.

"ya. and now my parents are going to tell me it's my fault and say that she's another gilmore to disappointment the family name." lorelai said in a sad voice.

"lorelai, you are not a disappointment. you've built yourself an amazing life and cassie isn't and will not be a disappointment." luke reassured her.

"ya i guess so."
-

"oh hun, i was talking about grandma and grandpa not you." lorelai told her daughter.

"really?"

"i promise."

"okay." cassie smiled.

"listen, you look tired how about we leave you alone and take a nap." lorelai asked.

"ya, okay." cassandra said as she waved them goodbye.
