I don't normally do author's notes on this kind of thing, but I just wanted to give a shout out to Anotherboarduser, who reviewed a few of my stories as a guest. ABU, I want you to know that I really appreciated your in-depth review on "Torn," and once I get all 50 fics done, I am planning on going back and editing them. I will definitely pay attention to what you said, as you make some very good points. Thank you!
Drawn (Gamma Orionis' OTP Challenge)
Severus sat in the bush that he had begun to frequent. He didn't make a single sound, even aware of the noise his breathing made. He peered out from between the leaves, his small, dirt-caked hands gripping the rough branches before him. Glad, for the first time in his life, that he was small for his age, he crouched silently.
She was twirling. The red haired girl. Severus couldn't understand why she was twirling. But he liked it. She was happy, and it made him feel happy, too. Her twin braids flew around her glowing face and she giggled, batting at the flowing folds of her lilac summer dress.
A slightly taller, plainer girl walked up to the red haired girl, hands on her hips, and said something that made the happy girl stop twirling. Severus ached to get closer, to hear what the girls were saying, but he didn't dare move. Instead, he watched closely, his beady, hawk-like eyes fixed to the red haired girl. She was beautiful. It made Severus' heart pound just to see her. He felt like he could have sat there and watched her twirl for his whole life and never have any desire to see anything else. He was drawn to her like a moth to the light.
The small, dark haired boy watched as she turned to face the other girl. Slowly, she brought her own hands to her hips and looked the girl straight in the eye. Rather than moving her mouth, Severus saw an almost imperceptible move of her foot, stomping on the other girl's toes.
"MUUUUM!" the plain girl bellowed. "MUM, LILY HURT ME!"
So the red head was named Lily. 'It suits her,' thought Severus. She was like a flower, basking in the sunlight, bright and happy. As the other girl ran off, still screaming, Lily gave a small shrug of her shoulders and returned to her twirling. Little did she know that just a few meters off, a small dark haired boy was spying on her, and falling in love.
This was written for Gamma Orionis' OTP Challenge, using the prompt "drawn." Sorry this was so incredibly short… writers' block. But I'll get out of this funk soon, and I'll probably end up adding to this story.
If you liked it, please review. If you didn't like it… review anyways! :o)
