She was standing on the porch looking out at the water, listening to the rhythmic symphony of the waves crashing on the shore. She had been standing there for some time, quietly lost in her own world.

Suddenly a pair of arms encircled her from behind, a gentle smile played on her lips, but she made no other movement.

He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on the back of her head. She closed her eyes at the touch, enjoying the way he made her feel.

They stood in silence for a few moments before she heard him softly humming in her ear. Her smile grew as she caught on to what he was humming and quietly began singing once he reached the chorus.

"sailing, takes me away to where I always heard it could be, just a dream and the wind to carry me, and soon I will be free…"

She trailed off and they stopped at the same time, she closed her eyes and leaned her head back against his shoulder, completely relaxed.

"I love you" Edward whispered. After a moment of no change in her he wasn't sure that she had heard him, so he closed his eyes and let the contented silence surround them yet again.

A few moments later he felt her take a deep breath and begin to turn in his arms. He opened his eyes to look down at her, her chocolate brown eyes piercing the depths of his soul, the electricity surprising him, just as it had every other time he looked at her.

She bit her bottom lip and stared back into his green eyes. He could tell she was contemplating something by her look, so he chose to remain silent while she worked through whatever was on her mind. She slowly brought her hands up and put them around his neck, lightly tangling her fingers into the hair at the nape of his neck. He could feel her heart rate increase as was about to speak when he felt her take another deep breath.

A smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as he watched her battle with herself, but neither one of them dared look away. After a few more excruciating moments of silence she took another deep breath and closed her eyes briefly, breaking eye contact to calm herself for a moment. When she opened her eyes, he was still watching her, the ghost of her favorite smile playing on his lips.

"I love you too" she said so quietly he may not have heard her if he hadn't been looking at her.

His smile grew to take over his whole face and he brought his hands up to her face, gently cupping it in his hands. "Bella" he breathed. "That is the first time you've said it back!" He leaned down and gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead before a soft kiss on the lips.

"I just wanted it to be right." She said to him before leaning in to give him a longer, deeper kiss this time.

"It was worth the wait. You are worth the wait, my Bella." Edward said giving her another kiss before resting his forehead against hers.

The sun began to set over the ocean, the sound of the love in their hearts joined the waves as twilight descended, and Bella could think of nowhere else she would rather be than right here, in the arms of the man she loved.

AN: This is my first attempt at any sort of fan fiction. I realize that this is not much, just a simple scene. I have been seeing this same scene play over and over in my head, so I figured I should write it down. Comments and Reviews appreciated.
