[A/N] So, hello again people. Now, this is a late Thursday fic (Valentines for those in love) and since I didn't have anything to do for the day, I decided to replay ME2, and I was at the point where you do Miranda's loyalty mission and meet Liara. Then I passed by the Tupari machine, and this insane story idea popped out in my head. Well, please enjoy, read, rate and review! :D

TUPARI

Her mother was mystified as to the reason why she always drank Tupari.

She had heard all the reasons why she had to stop. Tupari was too sweet, Tupari was acidic, Tupari causes intestinal ulcers, Tupari is used as insecticide by impoverished batarian farmers, Tupari was this, and Tupari was that. But even though, she never stopped drinking Tupari. She'd have it for lunch, snacks, dinner and anytime in between. Her one concession to her mother was to never drink it on breakfast, but even then, she snuck in a sip or two from a bottle hidden underneath her bed. "Reserved for emergencies," she said. But everyone else didn't know better.

But now, she was approaching twenty. In asari years, this was an extremely short time, but she promised her mother that she'd stop drinking too much Tupari when she reached that point in her life. She had remained remarkably healthy, even fitter than most of the others her age, but her mother was worried and made a deal to teach her some tricks of her trade if she quit when she hit that age. But she hoped that by then, she won't need to drink it anymore.

Now, she was staring at her last glass. She wasn't sure if her plan would work, and if it didn't she would've risked several diseases for nothing. But she knew it would, and it has to. Lifting the glass, she took her time, taking small steady sips at first. But she grew impatient, and she chugged the rest of the glass.

The last thing she remembered before she blacked out was the rather sharp pang in her head as she gulped the thing down.

The great Dr. Liara T'Soni wasn't easily surprised, but the surprise she was feeling right now wasn't from finding her daughter sprawled on their floor with a glass in her hand and a Tupari bottle sitting on the counter. It was the man sprawled right next to her, groaning, a face that she thought she'd never see again. As she hesitantly approached both of them, she heard a soft rustle. Picking up the piece of paper that caused it, she smiled as she read the contents.

Happy Valentines Day, mom. I hope you enjoy my present. Love, your daughter.

She found another bottle of Tupari and chugged it down, smiling.

[A/N] Now, I hope you enjoyed it! :D For those who didn't get the joke, this is a reference to the Tupari slogan that it "brings your ancestors back from the grave" which in turn is a reference to the Pepsi Come Alive marketing program mistranslation debacle. Anyway, I'd also like to put in a shout-out to my other fic, Day By Day Armageddon, which you can find at www fan fiction net /s/ 8865016 /1/ Day-By-Day-Armageddon Just remember to remove the spaces. See ya!
