Title: Middleman
Author: Meesh
Disclaimer: Not mines.
Summary: Not quite a triange...more of a rectangle.
A / N: So I had a feeling and it was either this or a pack of Marlboro's. But let's face it, I don't even like smoking. Oh and I believe Jmanofsteel2, it was, asked a favor of me. I'll think of it, I haven't written in awhile. We'll see.
You see Jean and Scott walking along, happily. You see them and you shake your head knowingly. Jean doesn't love Scott. Jean needs Scott. And there are miles of differences between the two.
You know things like this. You know that Jean needs Scott for safety and assurance. You know that Jean loves someone else and Scott hasn't the slightest idea how deep this goes. You know the taste of Jean's skin and the feel of her breath on your neck. No, Scott has no idea how deep this goes.
There are nights when the silence in the halls are almost deadly and Jean comes creeping into your room. Her body is tempered with heat, either from having sex with Scott or trying to argue her way out of it. But details like this never matter to you. Only the way she moves, the grin in her eyes that is never present on her lips. She crawls into bed with you and lets you take her. As much as you can.
You know how to make her breathless. Powers aside, there are certain things you can do that Scott can't. Or won't. The press of your thumb on the inside of her thigh. The pucker of your lips on the underside of her breast. Things you can do that make her shiver and shudder and come.
There are times when Jean's alone in her classroom, waiting for Scott to take her to lunch. You grab her around the waist and watch her squirm. She doesn't like when you do this. She hates it because it's still light out and she can see. See that although she slinks her way into your room at night, begging to be captured, you're still...
But this doesn't mean she loves you. That you definitely know. Jean doesn't love you either. Jean loves only one person, yet she refuses to let herself have him. You know Jean loves Logan but to have him would only result in chaos. So where Scott can only do so much and where Logan can only offer looks from afar, you pick up the pieces.
And it never strikes anyone that between Scott, Jean, and Logan, Marie is always somewhere in the middle.
