It's before the end and Lethe and Mnemosyne are happy; lying on the grass, limbs spread out like roots.
Lethe's cheek is pressed to Mnemosyne's breast, lulled to sleep by the steady drumming of the other girl's heart. She dreams of flower, the moon kingdom and its' princess and being by Mnemosyne's side—nursing her wounds, watching her reach father than any distant star—for as long as she can.
She hopes it will be for always.
Mnemosyne's fingers are gentle through Lethe's hair, combing through the knots and feeling the steadily building up and down rhythm of her breathing through her the thin material of her sun dress. When her eyes finally drift shut in the stiffling heat, she dreams of becoming a senshi; she dreams of being able to protect the one that matters most above all others—and these words always correspond with Lethe—for as long as she possibly can.
She hopes for always, wishing for things that will never come to pass.

Outside, away from the little world they create their own world—their star—is crumbling all around them as they watch this woman without a star rid their world to dust. The only thing they can do is cling to one another and hope that they won't be without one another for long.
