Why do children need Neverland?
Where the mermaid's sing and have fun,
And the youth bask in the ever shining sun.
Why, it must be Hook's endless tries,
Or the Indian's endless cries.
Perhaps it is the tick-tock of the famous alligator clock,
Or maybe it is the sweet pretenders, the lost boys, and their endless adventures.
No, what draws them is the wonderful boy, Peter Pan,
The forever young boy bound to never-never land.
They await his sweet smile,
Knowing he may take a while.
For he is the boy who has my heart,
And this dear friends, is why it is so hard for me to part.
