Darkness blanketed the lands, dying the trees and rocks a dark blue, forcing the forest animals to take shelter and sleep except for a few; a lone owl flew through the sky, surveying the land for prey to feast upon.
Among the trees walked a man, or rather a boy; barely 16 of appearance he walked with the air of an older wiser man, one who lived in war and thrived in battle. Not to say he looked such; he looked quite beautiful actually, more girl than warrior though he was most definitely male. His hair, long and silver, glistened with its own ghostly light, falling down his back in straight tresses; his golden eyes glowed like a true predator set in a slightly pale face, a crescent mark gracing his forehead and stripes gracing his cheeks. At his side lay a sword, his clawed fingers stroking the handle in hopes of using it; alas though only owls seemed alive that night.
He was actually out for a walk to clear his head; he'd felt angry at home, finding only unsettling peace there. It was all that general's fault, he told himself as he made his way through the trees; my lord father should never have allowed that man enter our lands. He brings only useless peace and peace is boring.
He sighed, wrapping his fingers around his sword handle as he turned his inhuman eyes to where the moon, now new, should have been. He normally asked the god above who watched him and his clan from up there for guidance but on new moons he just couldn't find the energy to do so; with a quiet muttering of thanks for all the moon's blessings he continued his trek, unsure exactly where his feet were taking him.
Down a well-traveled road the young demon, for he could not be human, found himself walking, still finding no prey to take his current irritation out on; in the distance though he heard songs being sung, soft and sweet by one single voice. They sang of a moon and of the blue sky; it was enchanting and his feet took him towards the source, through some bushes to a riverbed. A child sat on the shore wearing a blue silk kimono that denoted no ordinary child, a coat wrapped around them; their hair was long and black, their eyes closed as they sung. The demon recognized them as a girl child but though curious to why they were there he did not speak, listening instead; the song soothed his anger and made him feel at peace. He just listened, closing his eyes as well as he let the words about the moon and the blue skies float around him.
Then they stopped and a voice, soft and scared spoke; "who are you?"
Veneziano: Aw to be back! Anyway, there are some changes of course but the biggest is the character name change; Sabrina now is Naruki Mikazunai. Enjoy!
