They did, regardless of what some would think, still celebrate Christmas. After all, why should their heritage effect one of their traditions, and one of the few things that made it still feel like the old man was there?

Rin, of course, would do everything food wise. He wouldn't trust anyone else with it, so it was left up to him. Yukio, the only one who got truthfully paid, picked out the presents that the two of them would give out. Together, they would set up decorations around the dorms, singing off tune to 'Jingle Bells' and the like. Rin, and his brother, were terrible singers. This was a time the twins spent together. This year, the first after Father Fujimoto had passed, they spent it just the two of them.

Christmas eve was spent talking about the told days- past birthday/ Christmas parties, good moments spent together with their new, or few old friends on the roof (Both freezing their asses off). Their late father was avoided as a topic. Late into the night, they went back inside, tired and cold, and burrowed deep into their covers.

The morning was exciting, Rin running far ahead of Yukio when they woke up. He'd already set up the first two presents to be opened- the ones from each other. Yukio was pleased to see that Rin had gotten him a magazine for his guns with the words For My Family inscribed on it. Yukio had gotten Rin something to clean his Sword and sheath with. Presents from those whom raised the boys at the monastery had arrived over time, and were pleasantly opened. Gifts from Shiemi, and the other cram school students were opened with excited gasps and fist bumps on Rin's end, and pleasant smiles and such from Yukio.

Breakfast was of course cooked by Rin also, and was divine, as Yukio quotes. After words, they decided to wonder around the town. Several times they went back into shops to warm up or to get a drink, if it was open.

"Glad to see some people today- thanks for stopping by. I don't really talk to my family- It's nice to see someone on a day like this." One man had said when they bought hot chocolate and stayed in the empty shop for a good hour. They kept the thought of how they wished they could hear a certain family members voice again off their minds. The sons of satan did this a few more times, for longer or shorter periods of time, for the rest of the afternoon. It was around six when they made their was back into the dorm. They plopped down near the fire, warming up.

"Hey Yukio," Rin decided to ask as he reached for eggnog. Yukio had given recognition to his speaking, so Rin continued on. "It may just be the two of us this time, but lets invite everyone next time, alright? Merry Christmas, Four-eyes."

"Of course. And, Merry Christmas, Rin." He replied, and the two soon fell asleep to crackling of flames of not blue, but a calm, and memorial red, not unlike the ones before they entered the world of demons and curses. But back before, when it was not two, but three gathered around the fire.
