Master Chief is alerted to a strange fluctuation in space time. He finds a mirror of Earth, where humanity never left their home planet. A world devastated by war, where only one country survives. That country's name? Panem.

"Master Chief" spoke Cortana.

"We have discovered a massive fluctuation in spacetime, nearly 0.3 light years away".

"Let's go" Master Chief said.

The shot towards the fluctuation.

Master Chief pondered what he would find there, some Precursor or Forerunner artifact.

As he pondered the story of the Forerunners and Precursors he almost cried.

The Forerunners had been created by the Precursors and yet they had rose and turned against them.

Then as revenge the Precursors had become the flood.

Humans had been the Precursors favored species, and Master Chief knew he would one day resurrect the Precursors from the Flood and have his revenge on the Covenant and Forerunners.

He quickly approached the spacetime flux.

Cortana began speaking again, "It appears we have gained a window into an alternate universe"

"This is one in which humanity's growth stunted to Earth, after a nuclear war, leaving only one continent known as Panem habitable"
