Penny was surprised when he gave it to her on their one month anniversary. He knew she hated sleeping alone and now that she and Sheldon were dating, it might take her months to convince he they could sleep in the same bed without them turning into horny rabbits. Her night time loneliness is why Penny had surrounded her self with Care Bears when Kurt had left her. This bear was different because this bear was from Sheldon, her Moonpie.
'I procured him for you so you wouldn't be lonely at night,' Sheldon explained his purchase. 'There have been a lot of thunder storms lately and I know how frightful you are of them, so I got you someone to protect you.'
Penny held the naked bear to her chest, 'he's very soft and cuddly, I'm sure he will fit in with my other bears.'
'No, no Penny, this bear is very special,' Sheldon explained handing her a bag from build a bear, 'this is his wardrobe.'
Penny sat the bear on her lap before looking through the bag to discover a collection of thermals, sensible trousers and superhero t-shirts.'
'Aww, his clothes are just like yours,' she noted pulling a T-shirt from the bag and trying it on the bear, 'I love him.'
'The bear is a toy representation of me,' Sheldon explained, 'he is your Sheldon bear to cuddle, kiss and sleep with to you to your liking until I'm ready to take on the task.'
'He's perfect company,' Penny told him placing a kiss on his cheek, 'but I look forward to having to the real thing.'
