Sheldon wrapped his arm around Penny as they watched her favorite movie, Forest Gump. On first viewing Sheldon had instantly felt a kinship with the title character, although they were opposites in intelligence, Sheldon shared Forest's confusion about emotions and social conventions.
He had also been bullied as a child and had girl's stick up for him, his had been his sister of course but he felt it still counted. Sheldon had never been a football star, no matter how much his father had wished for an athletic son, he had never got one.
Sheldon had met the president years ago when he was still in college and drank a Dr. Pepper in his presence just like Forest. He had also fallen for a radiant blonde; who sometimes got them into trouble but always challenged him to be his best no matter the situation.
Penny was definitely his Jenny. He decided then if he were to ever to become a shrimp boat captain, he would name his boat, Penny in her honor. Not that he had plans for such menial work.
The only part of the movie Sheldon disliked was the ending, why did Jenny have to die and leave unfortunate Forest alone to raise their child. He couldn't imagine losing Penny. If she were sick, he would do everything in his power to make her better again. He ran his fingers down her arm to her hand which rested on her expectant belly while Forest spoke to Jenny for the last time under their tree, he told her how smart their child was and how proud she would be of him. Sheldon felt Penny sniff under his arm; he knew she would be crying, she always did at this part.
Sheldon felt water creep from his tear duct as he imagined himself in Forest's situation. A life without Penny would not be worth living, he would never be able to raise a child on his own if something happened to her. As if she could read his mind Penny took his hand in her own hand and rubbed it against her large stomach, 'you're going to be a wonderful father, Sheldon.'
