It Didn't Happen

Bill stepped on a twig. The crunch beneath his foot startled him. He surveyed his surroundings. All he saw were trees. The forest was so dense that there wasn't even any sunlight breaking through the foliage.

A low growl rumbled. Bill looked around him, unsure of where it came from. The growl came again, and once again, the sound echoed, confusing him about the location.

Bill swallowed past a lump that felt lodge in his throat, fear overtaking him. And then out of nowhere, Fenrir Greyback in full werewolf form, lunged at him, going straight for Bill's jugular.

He thrashed, trying to escape, and then suddenly, the nightmarish beast was gone. Bill laid in a pool of crimson blood. And as Bill felt like he was dying, an ethereal angel appeared above him.

"Fleur," he gasped weakly reaching for the blonde goddess.

Fleur's usually loving eyes were cold and filled with hatred. "You're disgusting," she spat. "How could I ever love a monster like you? How could I ever let such a beast touch me? Marry me? Have children with me? Monster! Monster! Monster!" she chanted, as she began fading away.

"Fleur," he cried, trying to stand up and go to her. "Don't go! Please!"

Bill woke up in a cold sweat, panting as if he had run a marathon. His body shook, and Fleur sleepily sat up next to him as the bed moved with the force of his shaking. "Bill? Another nightmare?" she softly asked.

Bill silently nodded. He never told her what they were about, and thankfully, she never pushed for details.

Fleur's arms wrapped around his torso and squeezed him in a slight hug. "It didn't happen. Whatever it was about, you just have to remember that it didn't happen." She kissed his shoulders.

Bill returned her warm embrace. He didn't tell her that part of it had happened. Just not the part that truly scared him. Fleur hadn't turned away from him. She still married him. She was pregnant with their first child. Everything would be okay.
