I sit at the desk in my room, trying to decide on what to draw. I tap the end of my pencil against the paper, thinking. I finally figure out what to draw, and gently press the pencil down against the paper.
"Hiiiinnnnaaaaaaaaaaaataaaaaaaaa!" I hear yelled from downstairs. I jump and the pencil flies out of my hand, landing on the floor next to my chair. On the paper is a partially straight line, and then a turn off to the left. Now it's too dark to erase, and I'll have to waste a whole side of a paper. Thanks, Neji. I sigh and get up. I walk down the stairs to find Neji standing at the door, and a dark silhouette behind him standing on the porch.
"Y-yes, Neji?" I ask quietly, peeking around the corner. Neji turns around to look at me, and I see who is at the door. It's definitely not who I thought it would be.
"Sasuke's here for you I guess. I dunno why, he wouldn't tell me." Neji says. Sasuke? What is he doing here? And for me? I take a step forward and then walk to the door, Neji steps aside.
"Uh, h-hi S-Sasukeā¦" I say, looking down and still very confused as to why he's here at my house. He crosses his arms, and shifts his feet.
"Kakashi needs us for some dumb mission. He wouldn't tell me what. All I know is that you need to come to the training grounds with me." Sasuke says. I nod and join Sasuke on the porch, closing the door behind me. He turns around briskly and then starts walking towards the training grounds. What does Kakashi want Sasuke and I on a mission for? This doesn't make any sense. If he wanted to get a mission done, he'd just send a team of three, not an odd pair of two. I walk slightly behind Sasuke as he leads the way to the training grounds. How does Sasuke even know where I live in the first place? And why did Neji care so much that Sasuke was here for me? I sigh and a million questions run through my head. We get to the training ground rather quickly, but no one is there. Sasuke sighs, seeming irritated and leans back against a tree. I sit down on the ground and lean my back against a stump of a tree that has been chopped down. We should have expected that Kakashi wouldn't be here. He always has an excuse for being late, whether it be a totally reasonable excuse, or one that we know is an absolute lie. He's almost never on time, and when he is he scolds us for being late, when he was actually the one who was early. Kakashi is a very confusing old man. Is this even really important? I do have better things to do than sit around at the training grounds for three hours. I'm almost about to get up and walk back home when I hear footsteps. Sasuke raises his head and looks over in the direction we hear the steps coming from. I stand up and look over to see two more people, none of which I am really 'friends' with.
Shikamaru and Gaara are walking towards us. I tilt my head to the side, now very confused as to why the four of us are at the training grounds. Are they going on this mission too? What rank even is this mission? Shikamaru walks up, with Gaara trailing a few steps behind. They both look very unamused by the situation and to why the four of us are here together instead of in our homes where we should be. Why are we here? And where is Kakashi? If Kakashi really wanted to get something done, he would've sent people that work better together. Not an extremely shy girl and three angsty boys that would never get along if you stuck them in a room together for years. I sigh and sit back down next to the stump. The same question still remains in all of our heads. Why are we here?
