Summary: Percy has a little sister named Zoë. This is a story on how Percy tells Thalia he named his little sis after Zoë Nightshade. One-shot. Hope you enjoy!-22hillel
Setting: When Percy comes home from the war with Gaea, Sally is pregnant with a little girl. Percy gets to name her, so he names her Zoë after Zoë Nightshade. Right now, Artimis is walking out of the Olympian throne room after being dismissed from the winter Olympian Counsel meeting when Percy Jackson starts jogging up to her with a white shopping bag.
Artimis's POV
"Percy Jackson. May I ask what are you doing here? If Athena sees you, she may just blast you to bits," I say.
"I see you are thinking happy thoughts. I'll make she doesn't see me. As for why I'm here, well, I don't know where your Hunters are. But you do. And tomorrow is Thalia's birthday. This is just a little gift for her," he says, lifting up the shopping bag. "Also a letter. I was wonder if you could deliver this for me? Oh, and could you tell her that the letter has nothing to do with the gift?"
"Very well. Yes. I trust you are not trying to flirt with her, seeing as you have Annabeth. I will deliver this for you," I say.
"Thanks a lot," says Percy, walking away, about to run into his father.
Thalia's POV
Lady Artimis just got back from the Winter Solstice meeting. I find it strange that she is carrying a white shopping bag when she walks into my tent and sits the bag in front of me.
"For you," says Artimis.
"For me? Who's it from?" I say.
"It's form Percy Jackson."
"Percy? Why would he give me a gift?" I ask.
"He did say your birthday is tomorrow. And there's a letter in there as well that has nothing to do with the gift." She says.
"Oh. Ok," I say, about to open my gift, as Artimis walks out of the tent.
Inside, I find a Hoover Dam T-shirt with a note taped to it that says, There you go Thals. Here's your dam t-shirt!
I have I good laugh at that. Like, a good 3 minutes.
Underneath the t-shirt is a folded up of paper. On the top, it says To Thalia
Curious, I pick up the paper and unfold it. Written on it is this letter:
Dear Pinecone Face,
When I got back from the war with Gaea, my mom was pregnant with a little girl. She wanted me to name her after someone who saved my life or helped save my life. Zoë made my sword, which saved my life I don't know how many times. She knew the whole quest that she would be the one to die at a parent's hand. She came on the quest anyway. She helped save Annabeth. She had far bravery beyond what I knew. Hopefully my little sister will have the strength and bravery as her namesake. And now I am proud to say that my little sister is Zoë Bolfis.
Peace from Manhattan,
Percy Jackson
So Percy named his little sister Zoë. After Zoë Nightshade. That brought tears to my eyes. He's honoring a friend who died in battle. A friend whose job I took up in her honor. Wow, now I'm crying.
So thank you, Percy, for naming your sister Zoë.
