Summary: "Sometimes when Yami looks at Kaiba, he sees someone else."
Author's Notes: I actually have nothing to say. This is my first fanfiction, but I am posting it along with another I've written.
Warnings: Some parts of this could be viewed as shonen-ai, if looked at hard enough. I wrote it with the intention of that, but not everyone may see it.
Disclaimer: I don't own Yu-Gi-oh, and, to go against what most authors say, I don't want it. I don't know what I'd do with it if I had it. Probably screw it up.

Sometimes, before school, when Yuugi is still asleep and Yami is reading a book before class starts (usually on technology, a frightening yet fascinating subject), he sees Kaiba on the other side of the room, and what he sees... changes. Sometimes when Yami looks at Kaiba, he sees someone else. Things go black around the edges of his vision, the way it does when his mind is trying desperately to remember something lost. Then Kaiba turns and glares at Yami, and that look on that face is wrong somehow, and the image disappears.
So now Yami no longer reads his book in the mornings, but hides behind it and stares at Kaiba. He doesn't know what's happening, and maybe Kaiba will see him and change classes (something so distant and utterly Kaiba that Yami wouldn't be surprised), and Yami will never be able to look at him again, but somehow that person that he sees, he can't stop looking for.
