A character exploration, set when Wanda has been extracted from Mel's body.
Awe – Bee Lovely. 16/7/09
When he held her in his hands, Ian O'Shea thought that she was beautiful.
It had never been like this, before. He'd never imagined that the creatures which had stolen his world and his family would be like this. He'd been trained, led to believe that they were merely enemies – something to be hated and annihilated.
And then, he'd met Wanda.
He thought to himself that he shouldn't be surprised, really, that she was like this. She was such a beautiful person on the inside. How could her true form not be similarly breathtaking, and captivating?
He held her like he might hold a rare butterfly – terrifyingly protective, and yet in utter awe at the same time. She fit neatly into the palm of his hand, her body pulsing gently against his skin. Her tentacles fanned out gracefully, their iridescent silver catching the light the same way that her eyes had.
He hadn't been able to see anything but her. His Wanderer, his alien lover – so peculiar a relationship, and yet so obviously perfect that it was impossible to deny.
