Hello my beautiful readers!
Welcome to my extremely short one shot of the month! I did this during English class one day, when we had a sub and the teacher didn't have a lesson plan, so we were told just to "Sit down and write something."
Easiest. Assignment. Ever.
Anyway, I had just watched the movie version of 'Alice in Wonderland' (the old animated one) and was thinking about that when I was writing, and I thought what I churned out was okay, so I decided to post it and get some feedback.
Hope you enjoy!

As I gaze out the window over the heads of my classmates, my mind begins to wander. I think back to a poem my mother read to me a very long time ago, something about cabbages, shoes, sealing wax, and talking walruses.
Huh. What a funny thing to write a poem about, but I'm sure the author had his reasons.
I'm making my best effort to drown out the incessant chattering of my schoolmates, also trying in vain to write something around the vague instructions the teacher gave us. Peering out the window to the pristine red brick building, obscured by leafless trees, I try to keep focused, but my mind always drifts back to that walrus. What is it about that odd little poem that is so amazingly compelling?
Ah well, that is a question for another day, another time. Right now, I must write. I suppose you could say I'm writing right now, but this isn't so much writing as writing about writing. Fudgesicles ,(A/NI use that word occasionally, I'm weird like that) I think I just confused myself. Pardon me a moment, I have to move to escape the noxious fumes drifting upward from the cafeteria.
...
Much better. Now where was I? Oh yes, thinking of something to write. This is infuriating! All I can think about think about is that troublesome walrus in a waistcoat, try as I might to think of something else! Why can't I get him off my mind?!
I suppose that is a question that I shall resolve later, difficult as it may be. As of now, I shall simply revel in its strangeness.

Yeah, I know it's really short, but I'm still proud(ish). As always, constructive criticism is always welcome, but please no flaming! If you hate it that much, you don't have to say anything. There is really no point in making me feel awful about myself so you can express your displeasure. But, on the off chance you do like it or have something helpful to say, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REVIEW!
Until next time, goodbye!
