Kate sat down at her desk and let out a big sigh. It had been a busy day. The call came in at 4:30am, a body had been found in an alley in downtown Manhattan. The caller remained anonymous but the caller was positive that it was an up and coming actress, Sophia Bloom. Kate knew that everything with this case needed to be handled with discretion and that she, Rick, Kevin, and Javier needed to solve this case as quick as possible.

Just as Kate looked up from her desk while letting out another sigh, she saw Castle walking toward her with a large cup of coffee. He brought her her usual, a grande skinny latte with two pumps of sugar free vanilla.

"Thank you", she said with a smile on her face.

"You're welcome", Castle said in reply. "Why don't we get out of here for the night, it's getting late."

Kate glanced at her computer to see that it was going on 10pm. She knew the work of a detective was never done but without second thought she grabbed her jacket and walked to the elevator with Castle. They stepped into the elevator and headed down to the ground floor. They didn't speak until they stepped off of the elevator.

"I just realized I haven't had a thing to eat today. Let's so grab something", Kate said.

"Good idea. I haven't had much today at all, but I really don't feel like sitting somewhere and eating. What do you think about getting take out and heading back to my place to eat and then I can take you home?"

She smiled at him and he knew without her saying a word that it meant yes. They discussed pizza but decided against it after the case with the dead body in the pizza oven. They instead opted to head to the Old Haunt which had added a food menu after Castle bought it. They both got burgers and fries and then headed to Castle's place.

Castleset the food down on the counter and said, "Would you like a beer?"

"Yes, please." Kate replied.

Kate watched Castle open the fridge and take a couple of beers out. He set them on the counter and looked for his bottle opener. Kate watched his every move and started to think back to the day she had been shot. She never saw the sun bounce off of the snipers gun, but Castle had. So many thoughts went on in her head as Castle tackled her to keep her from being shot again. She thought back to the fear she saw in his eyes and the sincerity in his voice as he told her he loved her twice. She knew it wasn't like herself to lie, but she also was scared to tell Castle.

Kate sat there lost in her thoughts until Castle touched her arm. She jumped a little and then smiled at Castle and took a sip of the beer he set in front of her.

"Everything okay?" he asked.

"Everything is perfect." She said, even though she knew she had to tell Castle she remembered everything.

They carried their food and drinks over to the coffee table in the living room. Castle set up the big movie screen and put in a movie, but neither of them were interested in the movie right away. They talked about work some and then about Alexis and her college options. They were laughing and thoroughly enjoying being in each other's company.

A few hours had passed. By that time Rick had put another movie in and he and Kate got comfortable on his couch. He noticed Kate was getting tired because she had laid her head on his shoulder and was yawning. He grabbed the blanket from the back of the couch and wrapped it around her.

She looked at him with sleepy eyes and said, "Thanks Castle."

"Always."

A few minutes later Kate was asleep. He wrapped his arms around her and smiled. Everything in the moment was perfect. He felt her sink into him more. He smiled to himself and then drifted off to sleep.
